ESOL Newsletter February 2011 Volume 3 Issue 4 On January 11, 2011 in commemoration of the one‐year anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, South Plantation High School participated in a special videoconference program with their Haitian peers through a special project entitled “Students Rebuild.” Students from 8 countries and 21 states raised $120,000 to rebuild Haiti schools. From walk‐a‐thons to rock concerts, from rural Kansas to New York City, thousands of people are fundraising to build stronger, safer, permanent schools as part of “Students Rebuild.” Visit www.studentsrebuild.org to learn more or to join the challenge. Ms. Joseph’s Developmental Language Arts class at Blanche Ely High School collected toys for children in Haiti.
