• We knew, irrespective of their academic profile, certain
HISD students were less likely to attend college
– Underrepresented minorities
– Economically disadvantaged
– Foreign-born
– Special education
• To combat these trends, we specifically target students
on each campus for specific outreach and individual
advising.
– About 30% of the senior class was specifically targeted in 2015-
2016
