RULES1. The acceptance of an Entry Fee by the Society shall not in any circumstances be

regarded or construed by any person as an admission that any animal or other exhibit iseligible either to compete in the Show or to receive a prize or prizes.

2. Neither the Society or any of its officers or servants shall be in any way responsible oraccountable for anything that may happen (from any cause or circumstances whatever)to exhibitors, their servants, animals or other exhibits or property brought into theShowgrounds, or for anything else in connection with, or arising out of, or attributable tothe Society’s Show.

3. The decision of the Judges shall be final as to merit.

4. No person shall in any way communicate or interfere with a Judge or Judges engaged inadjudication or attempt at any time to dispute a Judge’s finding. Infringement of this Ruleby any person may cause his or her immediate removal from the charge of animals orother exhibits and the Showgrounds.

5. All animals must be in the judging rings at the time fixed for judging.

6. Any act of discourtesy, incivility or disobedience to the Judge, Judges, Stewards orOfficials of the Society, or any of them on the part of any exhibitor, his servant or agent,will entitle the Show Committee summarily to disqualify his animal, animals or otherexhibits for adjudication or from taking a prize or prizes and such exhibitor from receivingall or any prizes won by any of his animals or other exhibits in the Show.

7. Should any dispute arise for which a specific Rule is not provided, such matter in disputeshall be referred to the committee, whose decision will be binding and in no case canthere be any appeal to law.

8. Classes or Events may be combined on cancelled at the discretion of the Committee incase of insufficient entries.

9. Entry Forms must be:(a) Accompanied by Entry Fees or not accepted.(b) On the appropriate Forms enclosed.(c) Received by Midnight on closing date for entries.

10. There must be 3 entrants to compose any Class or Event. A 2nd Prize will be awardedonly where there are 3 Entries. Pedigree Classes will be divided if there are sufficiententries.

11. Where a request for withdrawal of an entry/entries is made to the Show Office before theEntries Closing Date shown on the front of the Schedule, refund of entry fee/s will bemade less £5.00 administrative fee. Request for refund of entry fee/s made after theEntries Closing Date will not be considered.

12. All entries in the Cattle Section must be Brucellosis and Tuberculosis certified.

13. All animals must be properly restrained. Owners will be held responsible for any damageor injury arising out of their negligence in this respect. Owners must carry their owninsurance to cover risks caused by animals in their care.

14. Objections must be lodged with Hon. Secretary in writing, accompanied by a deposit of£20.00 (which will be refunded if objection is considered valid by Committee) before9 p.m. on day of Show.

SAFETY AT ARMAGH COUNTY SHOW

SAFETY POLICYThe Armagh County Agricultural Show Committee will operate a Code of Safety Practiceon Show Day to ensure the health and safety of everyone attending the event. Visitorsmust share responsibility for their own safety and for the safety of others in their chargeby not taking unnecessary risks on the Show Fields, particularly close to animals andmachinery. Advice and guidance on safety matters from Safety Officers and Stewardsmust be strictly followed.

Mr. Eugene DonnellyMr. Stewart Morton. Safety Officers on duty can be identified by clearly marked uniforms.. All accidents or injuries on the Show Fields must be reported to the Secretary or one of

the Safety Officers immediately.. All vehicular traffic arriving and leaving the Show Fields must obey the instructions of theStewards and Traffic Wardens on duty.. In the event that the fields must be evacuated, everyone must follow the instructions relayedon the Public Address System.. Static Exhibits must be erected so that they do not cause injury, or risk of injury, to the public.. Demonstrations at exhibits must be adequately protected to reduce the possibility of anaccident or injury to the operator or members of the public. All animals must be kept under strict control at all times and must not allowed access topublic thoroughfares. All horses and ponies must keep to the designated exercise areas.. Aggressive or fractious animals must be returned to their transport vehicle and removedfrom the field. Any animal which endangers public safety and cannot be controlled, mayhave to be humanely destroyed.. All handlers and stockmen must be capable of controlling the animals in their care. Childrenmust not be left in charge of any animal.. All animals must be securely fastened to the fixed trailers provided when not in the Showring.. Dogs must be kept on their leads at all times and must not be allowed near the animals onshow.. To permit free access by emergency vehicles, roadways or entrances must not be blockedby exhibits or vehicles.. Children must be safeguarded from animals and machinery at all times. No child shall bepermitted to handle, ride or have control of an animal, machine or vehicle which is likely tocause injury.. If an animal is handled, hands must be thoroughly washed.

Irish Shows Association Rules

For the efficient running of the championships all concerned are requested to read andobserve the Rules set out below.

B. QUALIFYING ROUNDS (QUALIFIERS)Qualifying rounds will take place at eligible shows selected by the Irish Shows Association.

C. RESPONSIBILITY OF SHOWS HOLDING QUALIFYING ROUNDSa. Selected shows should hold a separate class for each qualifier from which the highestplaced animal will qualify.b. The qualifier class should be held as the first (1st) class in the relevant section of theshow.c. Shows must ensure that the qualifiers are held strictly in accordance with the relevantrules.d. No other sponsor may be involved in qualifying classes.e. Shows may charge an entrance fee for each qualifying class. The I.S.A. will award arosette to the successful animal(s) on appearance at the Final.f. No show hosting a Championship Final may hold a qualifier for that Championshipon the day of the Final other than by agreement with the Irish Shows Association.g. Animals qualified for Finals are not eligible to enter in any other class at the Show wherethe Final is held other than a Qualifying Class for another Competitionh. Shows should appoint competent well-briefed persons to act as Stewards, who mustensure that only animals (or other exhibits) which are eligible to compete and those whosedocumentation is in order are allowed to proceed to the judging ring.i. Animal Passports should be read by a Veterinary Surgeon appointed by the show.j. On completion of judging, Stewards should instruct the successful competitors to attendat the Show Secretaryʼs Office within one hour and to complete the necessarydocumentation to entry to the championship final.k. The show must appoint a well-briefed officer, who will be in attendance at the SecretaryʼsOffice, and who will assist exhibitors to complete the necessary documentation forparticipation in the final and to collect the relevant entrance fee.l. Show Secretaries must forward complete result cards, together with appropriatefees to the Irish Shows Association within three (3) days following the holding of theshow.N.B. Shows must return results card marked “No Qualifier” for any or all of theevents for which no animal (or exhibit) has been selected.

D. RESPONSIBILITY OF EXHIBITORSa. Exhibitors accept that the Judges decision is final in all cases. Any abuse or Judgeswilll not be tolerated. Where a dispute or case for complaint arises the matter should onlybe dealt with under f. below.b. Winners of qualifiers are themselves responsible for entering their animals (orexhibits) for the final in accordance with j. and k. above, within one hour ofqualifying.c. Winners of qualifiers will compete in the final.d. The Irish Shows Association in conjunction with the sponsor reserve the right to alter oramend the rules of any competition as may be necessary or appropriate.e. Shows and competitors must contact the National Irish Shows Office for detailsof any championships and not the sponsor involved.f. Objections must be lodged in writing with the I.S.A. representative at the show or theShow Secretary within half an hour following the completion of judging, together witha fee of 50 euro, or other stated fee, which is refundable in the event of the objection beingupheld.g. Any Exhibitor who makes a false declaration or misrepresents a fact regardingthemselves or their exhibit are liable to disqualification and or forfeiture of any prizesawarded.

Clydesdale Championship 2012Points will be awarded for animals placed - 1st (5 points), 2nd (4 points) and 3rd (3points) in the Clydesdale Classes at this Show.

In addition all horses forward in a class will be awarded one point. These points, togetherwith those gained at other NISA Member Shows staging Clydesdale classes during the2012 Show Season, will be totalled but where more than one Show (having heavy horseclasses) takes place on the same day, points gained will only count from one of theseShows. Trophies will be awarded to the exhibitors of the six highest placed horses.

Horses must have both Sire and Dam recorded in their passport. The hunting horn is then blown tocommence the jumping phase which will include a hurdle and an assortment of jumps.This is a fun event and as such there will be commentary and the spectators will have asay in the overall winner – it will be an entertaining and fun event.

WORKING HUNTER HORSESENTRY FEE: £10.00

THE COURSE:The course shall consist of 8 to 12 fences. It shall have a combination of upright and spread

fences and may include a double or a small bounce fence. The fences shall be naturalin type with copious sensible filling and n ot be easily dislodged. Only white or rusticepoles shall be used. A small gate, bank or water jump may also be included. Thefences shall have a maximum height of 1.10m for the open class and 90cm for thenovice class.

JUDGING PHASES:Phase 1:

JUMPING: Each horse will be required to jump the course. To be judges 60% forjumping performance (40% for actual jumping and 20% for style and presence).

Phase 2:RIDE: The judge may ride all horses in all paces on either or both reins they may jumpthe horse over one fence.

Phase 3:CONFORMATION AND MOVEMENT: The conformation and movement of the horse in-hand will be assessed by the judge.

NOTES:1. The same rider must ride the horse throughout.2. A rider may ride several horses in the jumping phase of the competition but will have

to choose one horse to compete the remainder of the competition.3. Horses cannot enter both Novice and open classes.4. Tack, No brushing boots will be worn in the showing phase. A running martingale with

a snaffle bridle only. Double bridle may be worn. the same tack must be worn in allphase.
