Setup and Installation GuideThis document is designed to guide you through a typical installation of the ETAP 11.0 Demo.

The PDF file for the “ETAP Demo Getting Started” is located in the folder C:\ETAP 1100 Demo\Getting Started. This file is also accessible directly from the one-line diagram in the example projects.

Demo Installation

1. To install the ETAP Demo, you must have administrative access to your computer.

2. Close all applications and insert the ETAP Demo CD into your CD-ROM drive.

3. Click the ETAP 11.0 Demo link to begin installation.

4. Click Next on the Welcome screen to continue.

5. The demo requires a four-character Installation Code. This time-sensitive code is located on the ETAP Demo CD sleeve or you can obtain it from OTI. The Next button will become enabled once a correct code has been entered. Click Next.

6. The installation and use of the ETAP Demo is governed by the terms and conditions of the ETAP License Grant and Agreement. These terms must be accepted before the installation can continue. Click Next to continue.

7. The Information screen displays hardware and software requirements as well as other useful information. Click Next.

8. Setup requires the name of a description folder on your hard drive where you would like the ETAP 11.0 Demo to be installed. The default destination folder is C:\ETAP 1100 Demo. To install the program in a different location, click Browse and select or type a new destination folder.

9. The Start Copying Files screen provides the opportunity to verify the setup information. If the setup information is correct, click Next to continue.

10. If the required SQL Server software is NOTdetected in your computer, you will be prompted to install it. Follow the SQL Server Installation Wizard instructions to complete installtion. If SQL Server is detected in your computer the SQL Server installation wizard will not appear.

11. If .NET 3.5 SP1 software is NOTdetected in your computer, you will be notified to install it. Please visit http://etap.com/support/downloads.htm to download a copy of the required .NET 3.5 SP1 software. If .NET 3.5 SP1 is detected in your computer the notification window will not appear.

12. Click Finish to complete the installation. An ETAP 11.0 Demo icon is placed on the desktop when the installation is complete.

Start DemoTo start the demo, double-click on the ETAP 11.0 Demo icon that was created on your desktop during the installation.

Activation CodeOnce installed, the demo offers immediate access to many of the analysis modules including Load Flow, Short Circuit, Arc Flash, and Star - Device Coordination. To activate other analysis modules, simply provide your Return Code to OTI to receive an Activation Code for the modules you would like to explore. You must have administrative access to your computer to enter the Activation Code.

Uninstall DemoTo remove the demo from your computer, use Add or Remove Programs from the Control Panel.
