Ethiopia: Dashboard - Sector Response andContextual Indicators (October 2017) Up to October 2017, 77% and 76% of the planned household beneted from livestock feed-ing and animal health interventions respectively. Likewise, to carry out the above men-tioned activities, a total of 31,428,007 USD was mobilized from dierent donor organizations by dierent NGOs and FAO.
Dispatches under Round 6 started on 18 September. As of 27 October, WFP dispatched 8,022 mt (43%) of the allocated 18,473 mt. WFP’s caseload for Round 6 also includes 15,000 IDPs from the recent conict at the Somali- Oromia regional border. As of 17 October, NDRMC dispatched 39,086 mt (79%) of the allocated 49,264 mt and JEOP dispatched 21,264 mt (81%) of allocated 26,290 mt. As of 04 November, WFP has dispatched 9,377 mt (53%) of the allocated food.
MAM: A total of 1,027,336 children under ve years and 1,016,579 pregnant and nursing women have been treated for MAM in the 10-month period January to October 2017. WFP through its partners (DPPB, RHB and NGOs) distributed 25,869 MT of specialized nutritious food under the MAM treatment programme between January and October’2017. The MAM treatment performance indicators monitored across 44 Second generation Woredas, 49 MHNTs and 97 woredas managed by NGO partners indicate recovery rates well above the Sphere standards. Performance Monitoring is not managed in rst generation TSFP areas.
SAM: In the period January to October 2017, at total of 284,804 children have been treated for SAM. This is 90% of the January to October cumulative caseload projection for 2017 (Annual projection 376,397 SAM cases in July HRD). Overall key TFP performance indicators remain very good and well above the international SPHERE standards: overall cure rate of 89.9%; death rate 0.3%; and default rate at 2.1% (combined SC/OTP national average). 8.9% of children admitted to TFP for SAM treatment required inpatient medical care in stabiliza-tion centers (SCs).
In October the WASH cluster response has an increase by 10% from September. This is due to the signicant increase in responses to AWD in Amhara and Tigray, to IDPs in Somali and Oromia and scabies in SNNP regions.
In sept/Oct 2017, about 1.7 million school age children were prioritized for EiE responses including 49,000 IDP school age children without access to formal or non-formal education. School feeding, learning stationary, establishment of temporarily learning centers and psychosocial support were the requirements. SCI continued to provide school feeding for 20,726 IDP school children in Ethiopia Somali region. IRC is implementing the provision of school feeding, learning stationary, the establishment of 19 temporary learning centers and sychsocial support for 7,663 IDP school children.
