Because we design and manufacture the current control

circuitry in our luminaires and light engines, we have

the ability to decrease the drive current in response to

inevitable industry improvements to the efficiencies of

the LEDs. This allows us to easily maintain constant

brightness levels within a product line from year to

year. If a luminaire is damaged or our client expands

their space and additional luminaires are required, we

can provide new luminaires that produce the same light

output as the ones installed previously.

Future Proofing

At this time, there are no unified standards for the

manufacturing of LEDs and debate is ongoing as to the

proper ways to test them for brightness, color quality, and

lifetime. At Eulum Design we test all of our luminaires and

LED light engines to ANSI (American National Standards

Institute) standard LM79. This standard defines the latest

industry-approved guidelines to test the true output of the

luminaire both in total circuit efficacy and lumen output by

an independent laboratory.

What are the standards for LEDs?

All Eulum Design luminaires comply fully to EN60598-1 and are tested to ANSI LM79.

Eulum Design is an ISO9001 registered firm.

Eulum Design takes it’s ecological responsibilities seriously and as such we:

Lead free solder in compliance with RoHS requirements

All Aluminium used has a minimum 20% recycled element

All packaging is recyclable

No harmful solvents are used and where possible the use of solvents is avoided

Off the shelf constant current power supplies can be

very inefficient as they are designed to operate over a wide

range of LED configurations. The datasheets for these

devices often will show an efficiency specification at the

best possible operating condition, while the efficiency for

your particular LED configuration could be below 70%.

Eulum Design optimizes each on-board driver for the LED

load it is designed to drive, often reaching efficiencies as

high as 97%.

Our on-board current control circuitry is designed to

operate from a standard 24VDC supply that allows simple

and efficient power distribution using thousands of readily

available power supplies from hundreds of suppliers

across the world.

The on-board driver allows our designs to directly

monitor the temperature of the LEDs, and make

adjustments to the current control to ensure a long

lifetime, even under fault conditions such as an

undersized heatsink.

EU-D46/1-M80

Ø46mm LED Module

Designed for ease of installation the EU-D46/1-M80 is the ultimate 1,000lm single point source LED engine, with the most advanced features:

• Isolating base in white PC and transparent PC cover (optional)
