Conference contentEuroNanoForum – The Nanotech ERA
ENF 2011 The European Nanotechnology Research Area:
Nanotechnology for Economic and Societal Benefits
• The Science oriented session aims at highlighting world class research, including collaborations, ERC activity and experience, research infrastructure, research facilities, international cooperation and mobility.
• The Business oriented session focuses on European competitiveness, taking into account challenges of sustainability. It looks at the value chains for transferring new technologies into new products, by enterprises and nanotech-clusters involving SMEs. The Session presents examples of the PPP approach and of venture capital involvement.
• The Society oriented session aims at a holistic approach to involve strategic thinking. The session addresses the crucial issue of societal acceptance of nanotechnology. The session opens and directs society’s attention to nanosciences and nanotechnology; it discusses approaches to engage the public, build trust. It addresses education, and calls for stakeholders’ involvement.
