Like this particular issue of i-D Magazine, which focuses on one main coverstar/person, my magazine does the same, with each monthly issue beingabout a different music artist. This is quite a conventional aspect to music

magazines in particular, with one main artist being shown on the cover, usuallywith an article or special feature inside to match.

DISTRIBUTORS

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/evaluation-28th 21/38

Bauer Media publish a wide rangeof successful magazines, music

magazines included, and own morethan 80 influential media brands.

DISTRIBUTORS

Bauer already publish two very

successful and popular musicmagazines 'Q' and 'Kerrang' so ifmy magazine were to bedistributed by Bauer, cannibalismcould occur as there would be justtoo much competition between the

music magazines.

They run radiostations such asKISS FM and

MAGIC.

They run musicchannels such as4MUSIC, KISS andThe Box.

Bauer publish magazinessuch as 'Heat' and 'Closer'

that focus more on celebrityculture and can be seen astrashy and cheap magazines.Although teens do read thesemagazines, my targetaudience are less likely to.Bauer has no experience withmy kind of magazine or target

audience.

DISTRIBUTORS

DISTRIBUTORS

IPC Media publishes a huge range ofmagazines. NME is published by IPC

and therefore if my magazine were to betaken on by IPC, there would be verystrong competition as NME is such anestablished music magazine. This is areason why IPC may not be a suitabledistributor for my magazine.

IPC don't publish anymagazines like mineand with the sametarget audience as

mine.

Has a very wide range ofmagazines so may be open tonew ideas and new magazinesor unconventional magazines

like mine.

They do, however,

publish Wallpapermagazine which has asimilar simplisticdesign which indicatesthey would be open-minded about myminimalistic designand layouts.

Too much

competition from NME
