We wanted to brand the artist as being Urban with the music video being shot

around London, we wanted to continue the urban theme with having the magazine advert and the digipak following the same suit. Our pictures in our magazine advert and digipak are taken from a run down part of London, New Cross. Having that gritty and raw effect appeals to the younger audience, because it relates to them and also the type of music they listen to. We also branded our artist with having common and fashionable clothes which fans can buy and associate with him. We took influence from Ed Sheeran who is also ginger, we had our artist doing known poses that Ed Sheeran has done for our digipak

Synergy

The synergy shown between our ancillary products was very clear. In our Magazine advert we showed the front cover of our digipak display what we are advertising and also adds continuity like our digipak. Our digipak pitchers' are mostly taken from our music video(shown below) having the same shots means that buyers can associated the artists hit single video with the digipak, especially if it’s the artists biggest and most well known song.

When representing the artist, we had influences from Ed Sheeran and Rizzle

Kicks. Both Artists are indie Hip-Hop and are Unique in the way they dress themselves on the music scene.

Representation of the artist

The influence he gave was clear due to both artists being ginger we went with representing him

as being cool and calm.

Throughout the video the man artist is dressed in blue, this is to portray masculinity which is making up with the dominance of the female in the narrative. The colour blue also connotes calm and cool which was one of the clear representations

Young loveYoung love is clear in our main product, the fast pace and the frequency of the panning connotes the feeling that the young male is, ‘sickly in love’, the overly bright colours from the flower stool also connotes the over the top in love feeling.

HeartbrokenWe wanted to break the connection of typical cheesy love music video’s were the proposal or a marriage ends happily an example of this would be Katy Perry’s music video ‘Hot and Cold’ where it ends in the couple getting married. We wanted to break the mould and bring a tongue and cheek aspect by having a scenario where the male gets rejected by the women. We also show the times before they broke up, which is common with a broken relationship, you think back to the good times.

Themes and Mode of Address

Looking at feedback, the audience that there was continuity and the clear reason was that the digipak shots were also in the music video which we wanted, they also thought that the clothing was fashionable and could easily be associated with They also understood our themes and thought it was original challenging the

conventions of love.
