Video Camera We used a Video Camera to film the opening of our horror film, the camera recorded in full hd and is a professional piece of equipment which helped us to keep our horror film looking smooth and professional. We also used the same camera to record our preliminary task which helped us learn a lot of new skills when videoing the footage, like new camera angles that we never used before and which one fits best for the situation.

Tripod I used a tripod when recording our footage in order to keep it stable and steady at all times. Using a Tripod will make things look a lot more professional hence why we used one and it was necessary for some of the shots we included in our film opening. We used the tripod for a Tracking Shot as it meant it will look steady and continues and for a pan shot. I have learned that using the tripod is an essential in order to keep the footage steady and i also learned that their is spirit level will tell us if it’s on a steady level and flat service.

iMacI used the iMac to upload all my footage on the local storage, the Mac is a very professional software which helped me process and edit my footage very quickly. I used the mac in order to complete a lot of my previous tasks in order for the preparation of our opening of the film.I gained a lot of more experience when using the iMac, feeling a lot more comfortable using it now.

iMovieI used iMovie to edit my film opening and edit our preliminary task, the reason for this was because i found using iMovie very easy to use and gave us a vast variety of editing tools and effects to use with in our film. I was able to gain the skill and experience with using iMovie after we finished editing our preliminary task, as it gave me the confidence to edit our film opening as i had more experience using iMovie and felt a lot more comfortable around it.

Photoshop I used photoshop in order to design our production logo in photoshop, the image is copyright free as i have made it all by myself. Photoshop was the best program in order to do this as it offers a load of tools and effects to finish our production logo. I have used Photoshop before so i was pretty familiar with it and i was able to operate my way around it in order to design our logo and add the font to it.

Memory card We used memory card to store all the footage on, after we finished recording all of our scenes we were able to import them into the mac. Where we was able to select the clips that we wanted and didn't want and it would upload it on to the desktop.

SlideshareI used slideshare whenever i made a powerpoint for one of my tasks in preparation for the film opening and wanted to upload it on to the blog. Uploading the powerpoint on to the blog would not be possible without slideshare as it embedded the video into a HTML format which was readable on the blog and made it look very professional and clean. During the time i have used slideshare i was able to learn how to upload my work on to slideshare and then embed it correctly so it can be displayed on the blog in the right format.

Youtube

I used youtube in order to research other film openings and watch clips of other horror films. This helped me alot with my research as i was able to see what effects professional horror films use and how they represent the right generic conventions. This helped me alot as i was able to take notes and gain ideas for my own horror film opening.
