Evaluation Q3

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

Page 2: Evaluation q3

• In our planning and production for our trailer, we asked different types of groups for feedback, even though our target audience was aged 13-18. We wanted a range of answers because other viewers may be interest in our trailer/film. Most of our feedback that we gained change our work in significant amounts for example – choosing our film title.

The range of Feedback used

• Facebook • SurveyMonkey• In person - audio recorded.• Questionnaire

I used Facebook as a place to get my friends who are my target audience age, to answer my survey to help choose a title . Facebook was a good platform for my group as we all have an account and was able to obtain advice for our trailer and make it a semi-professional product.

As a group we were indecisive when it came to the name of our film. So we came up with ten different title names and created a survey to help us decide an appropriate film title. The results showed that four out of the ten names suited our film, according to the audience. From creating this survey out of the four we were able to decide easily what to name our film. Which is called ‘My name is Cain’.

Audio / Face-to-Face feedback I think was the most effective for us as a group because we were able to watch the reaction of our viewers and they were able to give feedback straight away on how to improve.

This is the feedback for our trailer – the first draft. The main change that our teacher's mentioned to us was the use of sound to create tension and also music. Our teachers suggested that we used faster paced music so that it flowed the with trailer and the genre.

The information given to us was incredibly important because our characters introduced need a clearer introduction for the audience to understand who were important characters. We tackled this task by slowing down shots and adding more close ups of the victims faces and maybe sometimes medium shots. This allows the audience to identify the characters and understand their place in the storyline.

We also gained feedback from our classmates

Gaining audience feedback form our classmates was useful as they told us what they thought our trailer was strongest in and what was weak. They said that we had a balanced mixture of shots and our planning shows through our work. We would each individually come up with how we thought the scene could have been shot and by doing this we had a wide choice on how to film and we went with the shot that looked best within the sequence. From this feedback we were abled to identify what was weak in our trailer and how we can improve it.

• From audience feedback, as a group we were able to identify weaknesses within our trailer that were not easily identifiable to us and improve to make a stronger semi-professional product.

• Audience feedback has taught me that seconds opinions can help make better decisions and help adjust your work to create the best outcome.
