How did you attract/address your audience?

Focusing On My Target AudienceBy my chosen target audience being 16-22 year old girls, I had to concentrate on my audience throughout the entire making of my magazine. It was vital that with such a narrow target audience every detail had to be specifically addressed to the audience. From the colours, the fonts, the photographs, the alignment of text, to the actual content included in the magazine.

The colours I chose to use in all aspects of

my magazine ensured I was to bring fun into

the magazine. The element of the magazine

being fun to read and enjoyable was a key

feature to ensure my magazine was

representative of my target audience. Majority

of teenage girls would not enjoy reading

a black and white magazine. Therefore I had to

relate it back to my target audience.

Mode Of AddressI used a very relaxed and colloquial mode of address. I chose not to write my magazine in a formal mode of address as I believe then my target audience would not be attracted or interested in my magazine. I worded all my features of my magazine short and to the point.

this works well to attract

my target audience.

Dialogue Used In Double Page Spread

Writing the dialogue for the double page spread was vital to address my audience. By asking questions about how the star is coping ‘after you spilt’ I believe would be interesting for my audience to read. I also tried to portray a relaxed and chatty tone in my dialogue by making comments such as ‘so lovely to see you looking beautiful’. By doing both of these I have tried to reach my target audiences attention. I chose for

the dialogue to be positive and show the

achievements of the star. The dialogue is a

key way of displaying my target audience as

it is showing a famous star, achieving. Which

then makes my readers and target audience

aspire to achieve high.

Double Page Spread PhotographsThe photographs included in my double page spread are also absolutely necessary to address my audience. By photographing the star in her ‘home’ ‘casual’ clothes it gives my young target audience something they can achieve. They will be able to relate to ‘Annabelle Hooper’ as her clothing is casual. I chose to photograph my model (Annabelle Hooper) with her cherished

house hold pet, this is also something

within reach my target audience can

achieve also. The set up drunken

photograph also relates to my target

audience, to show the danger of

excessive drinking. I chose to put this

in my magazine to show awareness,

and also to grab the attention of my

target audience.
