How did you attract/address your

audience?

Page 2: Evaluation question Five

Genre

The first way we attracted our audience was by using conventions from the two genres we were trying to achieve in our opening

Both genre’s will attract two different audiences and we tried to balance the opening so both would be engaged

Overall we have created enigma and mystery as this would help the audience want to see more

Genre However, to ensure the audience had a real understanding

of the combination of the two genres we decided involve the iconography relevant between the two genres.

Such as; costume, location and the enigma created.

We feel the idea of creating a contemporary take on these two Genre’s will attract an audience due to the unique and intriguing connotations of Social Realism and Neo noir.

Hopefully an audience will be interested in the way in which we have changed the stereotypical social realist conventions.

Camera Work and Editing

Another factor of our film that will attract our audience is the creativity we have used within our camera work and editing.

We have used a wide variety of shot sizes and angles such as; extreme close ups, medium shots and a tilt leading to an establishing shot.

We also used a wide range of editing skills within Adobe Premiere pro such as; pen tool, garbage matte, three way colour corrector, key framing that work cohesively with our camera work to develop a intriguing creative aesthetic.

Enigma One of the most important parts of an opening title sequence

is to create enigma within your audience.

We feel as a group that we have successfully done with the lack of dialogue and our use of mysterious non-diegetic sounds.

Also we show limited features of each character initially, encouraging you to continue watching, For example seeing the feet of characters before their faces.

These factors cause for the viewers to begin questioning and analyzing the situation that we have created within our opening title sequence.

Final Attraction Lastly, we feel as by using young actors will entice the

audience to engage in a sense of empathy, understanding and curiosity for these characters

Furthermore by using unknown actors, we feel as if the audience will be intrigued in the upcoming of young un experienced actors developing talent within the film.
