changing the world.

How to Love the Muslim People

Kyle and Becky Zimmerle have been living and serving

our Lord among the Muslim people of Central Asia for

ple in the Middle East.

Come share in their experiences and learn how to un-

derstand the context of these people’s lives and their

beliefs and myths about themselves and about us.

Learn how you can pray for the people of Central Asia

and the Middle East and the Chris)an Missionaries who

live and work among them.

Lunch will be available. All are welcome to come with

Purl Girls

I am wri)ng this on Friday, July 19,

2013 at 8 p.m. and it is 87 degrees!!

Purl Girls enjoyed their Spring

Luncheon on Wednesday, May 22.

Everyone brought a dish to pass &

each one was delicious.

We had two guests at the luncheon represen)ng two

missions that we serve. One representa)ve was Eliza-

beth Erven from Racine Unified – Families in Transi)on

Program. The second representa)ve was Judy Walther

– Hospice Alliance.

Throughout the year, Purl Girls were busy making

fleece, kniEed, or crochet throws for the 2013 gradu-

ates. On Sunday, June 2, 18 to 20 handmade throws

were presented to the gradua)ng class of 2013.

If you think that your stash of yarn at home is becoming

more than you care to have, Purl Girls will gladly accept

your dona)ons. All colors are welcome; however, we

definitely could use some darker colors to use for hats &

miEens for the children of Racine Unified and for the

hats & scarves for Seafarers. You may drop off your

yarn dona)ons in the Memorial Lounge and label it Purl

Girls.

Please join Purl Girls

each Wednesday morn-

ing from 9-11 a.m. in

the Memorial Lounge.

We welcome veterans

of kni-ng & croche)ng,

as well as novices and

beginners. Please join us for lively conversa)on, fun,

Facts for Parents & Students: The Global University

(College Ministry in a Post-Chris)an Culture by Steven Lutz)

In 1999, the Globaliza)on and World City Research Network

awarded their highest global city ra)ngs to New York, Lodon,

Paris, and Tokyo. The culture-shaping influence of global

ci)es has accelerated with the effects of globaliza)on and

technology. Those at the highest level of commerce, culture,

and poli)cs have long recognized that there is no more strate-

gic place than the global city, and this is also true in ministry.

To reach the rest of the world, we must start reaching global

ci)es. The global universi)es mirror the characteris)cs of

global ci)es: name recogni)on, size, academic excellence,

diverse popula)on, influence, des)na)on for mul)-na)onal

companies, and major spor)ng centers. Among some of the

most obvious schools, (Harvard, Cambridge, Yale, Oxford,

Stanford, Princeton) the University of Wisconsin-Madison is

listed. These sta)s)cs about global campuses provide undeni-

able evidence that reaching college students will to an extent

reach the rest of the world!

Give Willingly….. ”Each of you should give what you have

decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under com-

pulsion for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7b

God gives us )me, talents and treasures to use for God's

own lives for our own benefit. Our Chris)an faith, howev-
