Geraldton Harriers RunFest & Marathon 2017 1st & 2nd of July,
Geraldton, Western Australia.
Welcome
The Geraldton Marathon was inaugurated by Geraldton Harrier Grant Woodhams to coincide with the Sydney 2000 Olympics and continues to grow in participant numbers. In its 14th year, a festival of running and walking was built around the Geraldton Marathon and Half Marathon events to celebrate the achievement of professional athletes and recreational runners alike, who conquer the long distance events. It is envisaged that celebrating the running and walking culture of Geraldton Harriers RunFest and Marathon will become habitual for participants, and inspiring for spectators alike; thereby contributing to a healthier local community. The event has climbed several rungs on the regional events ladder since its inception in 2013, becoming a two-day event with the introduction of the Junior RunFest. This growth reflects the commitment of the Geraldton Harriers Club along with event sponsors, partners and volunteers towards a healthier community. In 2017 the Club has moved to create a Member focused event, while remaining open for the public’s participation and enjoyment of the same calibre and scale of previous RunFest experiences. For the first time, entry to RunFest is now a benefit of Club membership, saving members hundreds of dollars in fees, and facilitating increased involvement in the Club’s flagship event. We also hope this will encourage RunFest participants to join our Club and continue with sustained exercise in the fun and social family environment offered by in season weekly fixtures. Welcome to Geraldton Harriers RunFest 2017.

Geraldton, Western Australia.
About RunFest 2017
The Geraldton Harriers RunFest and Marathon 2017 is organised and run by the committee and volunteers of the Geraldton Harriers Club Inc., a not for profit running and walking club.
The Marathon course uses well-built, scenic footpaths around the fabulous Geraldton foreshore. At the Geraldton Yacht club located on Marine Terrace, otherwise known as RunFest HQ, an expo of supporting sponsors, healthy food options, volunteers, families and fellow participants adds a festival atmosphere.
Come and join on us on Saturday July 1st and Sunday July 2nd for RunFest. All events begin and finish at the historic Geraldton Yacht Club. The fast and flat course takes in the icons of Geraldton including the Merry Go Round by the Sea, foreshore infrastructure, marina and the windsurfing meccas of St Georges and Sunset Beach.
The weekend begins on Saturday at the Geraldton Yacht Club with Race Bib Collection for all events including Junior RunFest from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. Junior RunFest gets underway at 4:00pm so make sure you hang around and watch Geraldton’s miniature prodigies tackle the 1, 2 or 3-mile course.
Sunday morning, it’s on! Marathoners have an early start at 7:00am, joined an hour later on the course by Half Marathon runners. The 10km and 4km events (where both runners and walkers are welcome) start at a more relaxed 9:00 and 9:30 respectively.
After your event, relax and wind down with us at RunFest HQ. A casual end of festival social celebration - “RestFest” - commences 5:00pm at Geraldton’s Freemasons Hotel for those wishing to unwind with fellow participants and event staff. Enjoy!
