Preparing for the EventIn order to attend a Throne of Skulls event, you’ll need to prepare
an army of Citadel Miniatures to play with, as well as a number of
other things to bring with you. We’ve prepared this checklist for you;
if you follow it, you’ll definitely have everything you need!
Your Army List“The Pritzock Halberds have joined our campaign, my Lord... their names have been added to the Charter” Paymaster Shiek Yadosh to Mercenary General von Schmidt
When attending a Throne of Skulls, you’ll need to bring at least two copies of your Army List with you. This is, essentially, a full list of each and every model in your army and what it is armed with. For more information on writing an Army List, visit the online guide click here

Selecting your army“get da Clans togevva....we’s goin to war!.” Warboss Gorbad Ironclaw
To attend a Throne of Skulls event, you’ll need to bring a 2000 point army, selected using
the “Choosing Your Army” guide on page 132 of the Warhammer rulebook.
The Warrior’s Code
“we stood with the Dwarfs as one that day. it was an unspoken code of honour that would not go forgotten” The elderly Chief Ragni of the Jeutones
remembers the Battle of Blackfire Pass
When attending events at Warhammer World, we require that you abide
by The Warrior’s Code, which is designed to ensure everyone taking part
has a fantastic experience. We expect that:
1. All your miniatures have been produced by Games Workshop
(Citadel, Forge World or Warhammer Forge).
2. All miniatures in your army must be fully painted.
3. All miniatures in your army must be fully based.
4. All miniatures in your army must be fully assembled.
5. Your Army List must be selected from a current Games Workshop publication.
6. All miniatures in your army must have weapons/equipment as listed.
7. You will use an appropriately sized and painted movement tray for any units that
are larger than one model.
8. Unit Fillers represent no more than 20% of the unit and roughly
equate to the fighting prowess of the models they replace.
9. You do not use proxies at Warhammer World Events.
10. All major conversions are approved by the Warhammer World
Events Team in advance of the event.
11. You treat all your opponents in a fair and even handed manner.
12. You embrace the Most Important Rule; play in the spirit of the game and do not
get bogged down in the details of the rules.
if you and your models abide to The warrior’s Code throughout the event, there is a sizable reward as mentioned later in the Scoring section.
For a much more detailed description of exactly what all of the above points mean,
including examples, please visit the Warrior’s Code page online click here
Using Sorcerous Pacts and Scrolls
of BattleAt Throne of Skulls, should you use either Sorcerous Pacts or Scrolls of Battle, it’s important to bear in mind that we will put you down as playing for the race from which the majority of your points come from, regardless of what your army composition is!
For example: John has a Dark Elf army he wants to add some Vampire Counts to. He takes the “Restless Dead” Battle Scroll and spends 1,200 points on it and the remainder on Dark Elves. This means John will be counted as playing for the “Vampire Counts” race at Throne of Skulls.
muster your forces
gamesYour opponents will be randomly selected by the Events Team, and games will last up to two and a half hours. Before each game, we will roll for the scenario from the
Pitched Battle section of the Warhammer Rulebook (pages 144 - 150). All players will play the same scenario to ensure fairness.
The scenery on the tables will be pre-determined by the Events Team, but players should feel free to re-organise it before rolling for deployment if both of you wish. If
a specific piece of battlefield terrain is required for the scenario being played, the Events Team will provide it before the game begins.
ScoringThroughout the Throne of Skulls, you are looking to score Battle Points; the more
Battle Points you earn, the greater your chance of lifting the coveted
Throne of Skulls trophy. You earn these Battle Points as such:
• 3 battle Points for winning a game.
• 1 battle Points for drawing a game.
• 0 battle Point for losing a game.
• 1 battle Point for each Favourite Game vote you receive at the event.
• 10 battle Points if you comply fully with The Warrior’s Code
throughout the weekend.
At the end of the event, the player who has scored the highest number of Battle
Points from each race will receive a Best of Race Award.
The overall winner will be whichever of these players scores the highest Margin of Victory (see box out above). This player will be awarded the title
of Lord of Skulls along with the coveted Throne of Skulls trophy itself.
If there are less than three players using armies from a race, then rather than the race average, we will compare their score to the average of all of the players at the
event combined.
In the case of a tie between two players, either for the Best of Race award, or for the Throne of Skulls itself, we will use the following as tie-breakers-
1. Number of Battle Points awarded from Favourite Game Votes received.
2. Number of Battle Points awarded for following the Warrior’s Code.
3. How many games you won.
4. How many players you competed against in your race (to decide the Lord of Skulls only).
favourite game votes At the end of the event, you get
to vote for the player who gave
you the most enjoyable game over
the weekend. Perhaps their army
was gorgeous, or they taught you
a new tactic? Perhaps they were
just a thoroughly sporting opponent.
For whatever the reason, please show
your appreciation for that player by
voting for them.
Margin of VictoryAt the end of the event, we work out the average score of each of the races in attendance. We then compare that race’s top scoring player to that average score of all the players of that race. The amount which that player beat the average by is called the Margin of Victory.
EG: John came top of the Dark Elves players by scoring 25 Battle Points overall. The other Dark Elves players scored 19, 18, 14 and 12 respectively. Thus, the average Dark Elves score is 17.6 and John’s Margin of Victory is 7.4.
the event
“it was at that time, when the battle was surely lost, that he stepped to the front and defiantly raised the Standard of Ostland. from that moment, the day was ours.” From The Chronicles of Captain
Schweisteigger by Christophe von Peache
Everybody has seen those cinematic moments, where one heroic act by an
underdog has swung the course of the battle. Using the record sheets provided,
note down your most unbelievable stories of heroic deeds; we want narrative-
driven stories of hugely defied odds and insurmountable glory like this:
• “The Champion of my Swordsman, Sergeant Lars Holt, charged into an Ogre
Stonehorn with the last four men of his unit, blades drawn. With the fury of crazed
men, they cut down the beast in one turn of combat! Huzzah!”
• “My 10 Gnoblars, The Anklebiters, charged a unit of Seekers of Slaanesh, and killed
them, before overrunning into a Bloodthirster and killing that too!” (Note- this
actually happened here once...)
The best story of bravery in the face of the enemy will receive the Single Most heroic act prize at the Award Ceremony.
“you ask a lot of questions, Manling. you know what i think? i think you need another drink.” Gotrek Gurnisson at the Battle of
Khazad Hurn
The bugman’s Pub Quiz At our two day events, we hold a pub quiz on Saturday evening. Based entirely
on Warhammer, this quiz boasts favourites such as Guess That Stat-line, Say
What You See and Who Would Win? Designed to let you chill out in Bugmans
with a drink or two, this is suitable for new players and veterans alike, so why
not gather a team of six or less and have a go? The winning team will not only
be crowned bugman’s rangers at the Award Ceremony, but also receive a
free round of drinks on us!
Legends gives you the chance to
show off your skills with single
models rather than with whole
armies. Simply enter a model in the relevant category when entries are being
taken (check the schedule). Once all the entries are in, we ask everyone to vote
for their favourites. Whoever gains the most votes in each category will be
declared the winner! (Please note - these models can be anything from your
collection, so feel free to bring anything, from any games system you like).
hero of Legend: All types of Infantry & Cavalry, Bikes & Jetbikes.
beast of Legend: Monstrous Creatures, Beasts, Flying Monstrous
