Everest base camp trekkingEverest Base Camp Trekking is one of world's most trekked
trails.
The Everest#Gift of the collision between Tibetan plate and the Indian plate.
#In local tongue: Sagarmatha- The Mother goddess of the world.
Trip ItineraryEverest Base Camp Trekking is a 15 day trip which takes
you through the green Dudh koshi Valley- rich in Flora and Fauna, Sherpa Villages, tea houses and Buddhist
Monasteries to name a few.
Day 01- Arrive to Kathmandu Airport (1380m)-Welcome to Kathmandu
-Check in to your hotel.
-Either rest or stroll around as per your convenience.
Day 02- Sightseeing around Ktm Valley-Visit Various UNESCO listed world heritage sites which include
Pashupatinath temple,
Swayambhunath stupa,
Boudhanath stupa,
Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square,etc.
Day 03- Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2610m)-Board a 30 minute flight to Lukla early in the morning.-Enjoy the magnificent mountain range as you arrive at Lukla airport-Get to know your Porter-A fairly easy 3 hour walk through the Dudh koshi valley to Phakding.
Day 04-Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3445m)
Second day of the trek through the Valley of Dudh koshi River. Cross the Dudh Koshi River five times on the exciting suspension bridges
laden with prayer flags on the way to Namche Continue your ascend, gradually leading you to Jorsale A two and a half hour climb up to Namche with two viewpoints on the way At Jorsale enter the Sagarmatha National Park where you will need to
verify your permits After 5 or 6 hours of hard walking, you reach the main trading center of
the region- the Namche Bazaar.
Day 05-Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar (3445m)

-Acclimatization is very important before proceeding higher to avoid altitude sickness
-Can see the so called skull of a Yeti in the monastery in the region.
-enjoy the panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and many other mountains- given the conditions are clear
Day 06- Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860m)-Pass the small settlement of Sanasa from where the trail drops towards Phunki Thanga (3250m)
-Trail climbs steeply through pine forests and around Mani stones
-Follow the side of a hill to the saddle on which the monastery of Tengboche sits at 3870m.
-The view from here is rightly deemed to be one of the world’s most magnificent sceneries.
Day 07- Trek to Dingboche (4360m)-Descent through a beautiful forest
-Cross the Imja Khola and trek through the village of Pangboche
-The route continues through summer pastures to Dingboche
Day 08- Acclimatization in Dingboche (4360m)-Trek up to Chhukung which is quite nice and easy.
-Get a really nice view of most of the mountains specially Ama Dablam
-View from Chhukung and further up the valley on the moraines towards Island Peak is tremendous
-This short trek is one of the highlights of the trek
Day 09- Trek to Lobuche (4930m) Start with a climb to the Chorten trail that is a gentle climb for about 1 and half
hour. Then, get to Thugla at 4600m in a tea house where you will have your lunch
before climbing the steep part of the day’s trek for about one and a half hour. You start to get close to high mountains like Mt. Pumori and Mt. Nuptse after a
while Then, trek along a broad valley floor to Thugla. A western volunteer doctor, supported by The Himalayan Rescue Association is
stationed here When you come out of the valley, you descend to the yak pastures at Lobuche.
Time to get to EBCFinally, I'm at EBC. Camps set up at EBC.
Day 10-Trek to Gorakshep (5160m) & Hiking to EBC (5545m), back to Gorakshep Take a 2 hour hike up to Gorakshep First part is nice and easy, but one hour later the trail starts to get harder Once you climb about 150m then the trail gets better again Finally, you get to 5160m, the world’s highest settlement at Gorakshep Have lunch, you begin your walk to Everest base camp You will be walking on a side ridge of the Khumbu glacier After walking on the ridge for about one and half hour, you cross the Glacier and
into the Everest base camp area You reach your final goal by trekking to Everest base camp at an altitude of
5360m
Day 10 continued-Appreciate your own efforts
-Photograph the achievements
-Enjoy being at Everest Base Camp
-Start your way back to Gorakshep; this might take a while (6-7 hrs)
Day 11- Trek to Kala Patthar (5545m) and back to Pheriche (4280m)-Early morning walk to Kalapathar from Gorakshep is about approximately 2 hours.
-Most of the famous photographs of Everest are taken from this “thump” on the landscape
-Hike down to Gorakshep
-Get some food; then go down to Pheriche
Day 12- Trek to Namche Bazaar -From Debuche, a half an hour climb takes you to Tengboche
-From Tengboche you descend to Phunkithanga at 3200m.
-Make the final climb towards Namche Bazaar
-Party that night
-It is also the last chance to have close-up views of the mountains
Day 13- Trek back to Lukla-Approximately a 7 hrs trek from Namche to Lukla which is mostly downhill to the flat part
-End the trek as you exit the Sagarmatha National Park
Day 14- Fly Back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel-Fly to Kathmandu early in the morning
-. Even the flight allows a really nice view of most of the Himalayan range.
-Choose the seat on the right hand sight of the aircraft.
-On arrival, transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu
Day 15- Departure to Home
It is finally time to bid farewell to this amazing country
