Transcribe Digital Files

The WavPlayer is a PC based audio transcription software specifically designed for transcriptionists. Complete with a foot pedal that plugs directly into any serial or USB port of any PC computer, WavPlayer supports nearly all types of digital audio files. WavPlayer can also run in a minimized state so that you can type into the word processing software of your choice on the same computer. The foot pedal controls the play, pause, rewind and fast forward functions. The headset plugs into the standard audio jack of any computer.

Improve Typing Efficiency

SwiftText Word Expander is a time-saving tool every transcriptionist should have. Completely customiza-ble, SwiftText allows the user to type abbreviated codes that are automati-cally replaced with expanded text. Expansions can be stored with or without text formatting (bold, italics, etc.). Simply type an abbreviation saved in SwiftText Expander and press the Enter or Spacebar key or enter the index number that appears next to an abbreviation and the abbreviated code will be replaced with its corresponding expansion. For example: Type “ad” in Microsoft Word and it will be replaced with “Admitting Diagnosis:” You can enter your own abbreviations. SwiftText Expander can execute three types of expansions–Custom Entries, Dictionary Entries and Shortcuts. Once installed, the SwiftText program runs within any Windows-based word processor or text editor program.

Dictionary Entries

Dictionary entries are customizable listings of words that will appear when typing within a document. SwiftText will display entries that match the keystrokes being typed in a word processor and appear with index numbers by them for easy selection. Dictionary terms can be added, edited or deleted from the list any time. You may add multiple words simultane-ously and there is no limit to the number of entries that can also be pasted into the diction-ary entry window.

Glossary Files

Glossary Files allow you to categorize your entries. For example, you may wish to separate abbreviations into separate files such as “Legal.abb”. “Medical.abb” and “Personal.abb”. Your Custom Entries and Shortcuts are stored in a single file and are limted to 5000 entries per file. Dictionary Entries are stored in a different file and do not have a limit to the num-ber of entries. You can also import entries into the expander file.

Bytescribe offers a handheld microphone station that is ideal for PC dictation. The Bytescribe Voice Input Station (VIS) offers a comfortable handheld microphone with a slide recording switch. An optional bar code reader is available for scanning medical record or patient numbers. The microphone station will work on any USB compati-ble computer with sound card. VIS integrates with Doc-Shuttle Internet Transcription System so that files re-corded on a PC can be directly transferred to the Internet using secure encryption. If a prod-uct is returned within 30 days of purchase in its original condition, the pur-chase price of the merchandise will be refunded excluding any shipping charges and restocking fee. A restocking fee of 10% with a minimum of $10 will apply. Handheld recorders have a 90 day guarantee.

Bytescribe will not offer refunds on "software only" products once they are registered on a computer. This includes SwiftText Word Expander, WavPlayer software (that is compatible with a foot pedal) and DocShuttle products.

Bytescribe must be contacted via email to receive an RMA number and in-structions for return. A request for a RMA should be emailed to [email protected] and should include order number, product, name of purchaser, date of purchase and a brief description of reason for return. Bytescribe will reply with return instructions.

Your ability to use WavPlayer, DocShuttle and SwiftText software will be sub-ject to registering the product with Bytescribe. You must register the software through the Internet or by entering a valid Activation Code, which is provided online with a valid Product Serial Number. In the event that the software needs to be reinstalled due to hardware failure or upgrade of the registered computer, the user can register the software two (2) additional times. Bytescribe reserves the right not to activate the Software, where use of the Software does not comply with the terms of the end user license agreement.

An alternate software registration method is to purchase a USB Dongle (hardware license key). This dongle contains the registration information necessary for the Bytescribe software and it can be transferred from one computer to another. As long as the USB Dongle is plugged in, your software is registered. A USB Dongle is available with most Bytescribe software prod-ucts. You can select the software product with USB dongle when ordering.
