Cold weather can be seriously bad for your health. That's why it's important to look after yourself, especially during the winter. If you start to feel unwell, even if it's a cough or a cold, don't wait until it gets more serious. Seek advice from your pharmacist. Visit the livewell website for more tips and advice on how to keep yourself and your family well during the winter months. You can  access GP services, nurse practitioners and healthcare assistants at extended hours and over Christmas via four local Hubs. Pharmacy opening times over Christmas.

A new partnership has formed between local homeless charities Hope House and The Salvation Army New Direction, supported by local agencies and the Braintree District Community Safety Partnership, to help those who are sleeping rough locally.

Donating money to local charities is the best way to provide long-term, effective support for those sleeping rough, as they are equipped to support people with a range of complex problems, and are able to help them end the negative cycle of homelessness.

Good neighbours this Christmas

Christmas is a wonderful time of year to celebrate with family and friends, but for some people it can be their most loneliest. If you know someone on their own why not invite them in for a cup of tea and mince pie or simply check on them during the festive period. You might make someone's Christmas a little bit better.
