The name “Genesis”• The book of Genesis establishes the foundation of
scripture. The title comes from the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Old Testament, Genesis in Greek means origin or birth. The Hebrew title for the first book of the Bible is Breishit, translating into "in the beginning". Psalm 104:31
Origin of the Universe• The Book of Genesis stands alone in accounting for
the actual creation of the basic space-mass-time continuum which constitutes our physical universe. Genesis 1:1 is unique in all literature, science and philosophy.

Moses as author of Genesis
• Genesis along with the rest of the Torah or Pentateuch are known as the books of Moses.
• Genesis ends with the death of Joseph, which took place almost 400-years before the birth of Moses.
• Genesis also starts with the creation of the Universe, and records the creation of Adam, events which predate Moses by thousands of years.
• How could Moses write about these events? Jesus Himself, ascribes Moses as the author of the Law, which means Torah, synonymous with the first 5 books of the Bible. Luke 24:27 & 44

There are three possibilities:(a) he received it all by direct revelation
from God, either in the form of audible words dictated by God and transcribed by him, or else by visions given him of the great events of the past, which he then put down in his own words, as guided subconsciously by the Holy Spirit;
(b) he received it all by oral traditions, again as guided by the Holy Spirit;
(c) he took actual written records of the past, collected them, and brought them together into a final form, again as guided by the Holy Spirit.

What is Creation?The word .create. literally means to make
out of nothing, and is used throughout the Scriptures and always applies to God and His creative power. - There are other words used in Scripture
He declares that .what is seen was not made out of what was visible. Hebrews 11:3.
That is, they were made out of nothing, and are not developments of previous matter, and certainly were not eternally existent.

Creation disproves six aspects:
1. Atheism, because the universe was created by God.
2. Pantheism, because God is transcendent to that which He created.
3. Polytheism, for one God created all things.
4. Materialism, for matter had a beginning.
5. Humanism, because God, not man is the ultimate reality.
6. Evolutionism, because God created all things.

Examination of Creation:There is no room in the process of creation
for evolution. The Bible tells exactly how God created.
Scripture also tells us that Nothing is impossible for God, He had no beginning and nothing is impossible for Him.

(1820 - 1903), outlined five .ultimate scientific ideas; TIME, FORCE, ACTION, SPACE, and MATTER.
• Everything that can be known or observed by science fits into one of these five categories,
• There is no room for anything spiritual in these categories.
• Compare his five scientific principals against Genesis 1:1.

the universe out of nothing.• - The Latin phrase ex Nihilo, "out of
nothing" is frequently used.• that before God began to create the
universe; nothing else existed except God himself. God did not use any previously existing materials when he created the universe.

Time Was Created!• 1 Corinthians 2:7 No, we speak of God's
secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.
• 2 Timothy 1:9, Titus 1:2 24 hour or more in the day• Literal translations of the Hebrew word, Yom,
like our English word "day,“• Morning & Evening Combination appears only in
10 times, out of 6 are in Genesis, remaining 4 are:
• Leviticus 6:20, Numbers 9:15, Deuteronomy 16:4, Daniel 8:26
• The apostle Peter tells us with God "A thousand years is as one day" (2 Peter 3:8).
