OVERVIEW1.

Next, it is presented dinamic rail scale FLINTAB EVO TRAPPER, fully equipped, including the electronical equipments interconnection. Described electronic weighing system allows to weight bogie by bogie, in motion, wagons loaded with solid products, connected into a trainset, pushed or pulled, according to required speed conditions. The presented weighing system ensure an high level

of sturdiness and reliability, completly removing of mechanical maintenance of the load receptor, maintenance requirements almost void, all this thanks to simplified construction and high checked reliability of electronical components made in Germany.

Dinamic rail scale FLINTAB EVO TRAPPER sits directly on crushed stone infrastructure of the railway, not needed to excavate a pit. This thing involve the following advanteges:

Are not necessary any kind of complex groundworks; is not necessary to pour concrete groundworks Thanks to „SLIM LINE” construction seatting depth of the frame on the railway infrastructure is only at

34 cm under NST (superior beam level). The frame is a monolith The scale is manufactured and assembled in controlled conditions in the factory The scale is tested and calibrated in the factory Modular conception allow to delivery the scale completly assembled and wired, ready to put it on the

normal infrastructure railway All the parts, also the loadcells are accesible from the ground level (doesn’t require maintenance)

Both rails right sides straightness and the deviations of the superior surfaces on both scale rails must meet the FLINTAB requirements;

The route must not have any curve or deviation on a 30 m length on every side of the scale;

If the mounting place is subjected to flooding, this place will be ensured with drainage system for partial or total prevent the flooding of the scale;

Rails and beams are eliminated on a length equal with the scale length;

The railway ballast is excavated (where is necessary) untill touching the sand level; the sand must be clean (without fuel oil, oil etc. impregnated) the railway ballast must be rebuilt according to railways regulation;

The scale is placed over the rebuilt ballast at the indicated quota;

FLINTAB electronic weighing system doesn’t have moving parts and it is easy to calibrate according to OIML regulations.

Weighing system identifies automatically the locomotive, the wagons bogies, train direction, the number of wagons, the speed of each wagon, the begining and the end date of the weighing process, all this without the operator intervention.

The process status is transmitted to the remote operator, this could step at anytime in the weighing process, when the speed is not observed or some forbidden maneuvers are made on the scale(speed up or breaking the train on the scale, stopping the train during the weighing process and changing the direction of movment) etc.

The weighing system checks every bogie, mass of each wagon and the total mass of the convoy/train, excluding automatically the locomotives. The mass measurement is made in movement, pushing or pulling the wagons over the weighing platform untill a maximum speed during the weighing process at 12 km/h.

Maximum capacity is 60t/bogie and the class of exactity for dinamic weighing is I for wagons and 0.5 class for train, according to OIML R106/1993.The weighing system can be achived static weighing according to OIML R76-1/1992, having the class of exactity III.

2.1. WEIGHING PLATFORM EVO TRAPPER

The weighing platform is the load receptor for dinamic weighing of a single bogie. This is formed from a fixed part – RECEPTOR FRAME – and a mobile part – LOAD RECEPTOR. Load receptor is seating on the loadcells, which tranforms the mechanical effort (the weight) into electrical signal.

EVO TRAPPER weighing platform structure is metallic with beams (active weighing component) mounted on completly metallic and robust foundation which is installed directly on the crushed stone railway infrastructure, without pouring concrete.The strengh of weighing beams structure is considered the best „I” beams support structure (extended steel I-beams), recommended design as „best practice” by the most competent international authorities in tranport and construction of bridges and roads domain (the scale being assimilated with a bridge-structure).The weighing platform is the load receptor for dinamic weighing of a single bogie. This is formed from a fixed part – RECEPTOR FRAME – and a mobile

part – LOAD RECEPTOR. Load receptor is seating on the loadcells, which tranforms the mechanical effort (the weight) into electrical signal. Also, FLINTAB platform design exclude indoors where the excesive humidity can initiate corosion processes from inside to outside.The weighing beams are mounted into a metalic U profiles frame closed with a labirinth so as the material could not enter accidentally (ballast etc.) of the railway infrastructure. Each beam is leaned on two loadcells, one a each end, and both weighing beams are interconnected by an moment arm at the end of each beam. This construction allows the beams to work independent without being exactly at the same level.

2.1. WEIGHING PLATFORM

Note: Comparative with stiff structures mounted on a concrete groundwork, which require that all four sustaining points to be at the same level, the advantage of EVO TRAPPER dinamic rail scale, with surface mounting, is that sustaining points is not necessarly to be at the same level, beams work independently one another. This is the reason that the structure can be mounted directly on ballast surface, the precision isn’t affected by the possible ballast detachment. Weighing modules will be delivered, at the mounting location, completly equipped with loadcells, wired and interconnected.

Professional limiters for shocks absorption allow to fix with precision the two rails of the scale, but without affecting any dinamic wagons weighing process for any permitted speed.

LOADCELLS

FLINTEC GERMANY loadcells are RC3 loadcells mounted in special kit construction. Loadcell unique design and weight mechanical transmission assembly by self-aligning ROCKER COLUMN revolutionary concept result an excelent load introduction and minimum dimesions of the mounting kit.The load is transmitted from the weighing beams to the loadcells through the loadcell „glasses”. Those make that the load will be applyed corectly to the loadcells and, also, permit thermic expansions into the weighing beams. Each loadcell has an shielded cable, completly sealed with a glass on metal gland, used in industrial environments, protection degree IP68/IP69K. All four loadcells cables are connected into a summing box mounted on the interior of the weighing module.

Summing box is FRP made (fibeglass reinforced polyester), IP66, IP68 glands and the connection board standard equipped with protection spark gaps for electrical shocks and silica gel for protection anticondensing.

FLINTEC calibration technique (mv/v/Ω) remove the corner calibration dificulties in systems with multiple loadcells, thus, big time consumers at the metrological verification.Optional, RC3 is available in environments with explosion hazard 0, 1, 2 (gas) and 20, 21, 22 (dust) according to Eex IIC T6...T4 T130 C ATEX.

EVO TRAPPER2.2. ELECTRONICAL WAGON IDENTIFIER SYSTEM

Electronical wagon identifier system: two dual inductive wheels sensor each installed on

both ends of the weighing platform jonction box for those two inductive sensors one conversion module which has an electronic signal

amplifier for wheels sensor, an pulses former and a signal wheels sensor simulator (for testing in service mode)

Inductive wheels sensor, for identifying the wagon wheels, are dual – TIEFENBACH GERMANY, so those two pairs of inductive sensors permit: directional wagon axes counting determine the movement sense of the train measure the speed of the bogie on the weighing platform wagon sense changing detection (in this case the weighing

process is cancelled)

The main advantages of those wheels inductive sensors are: detects without contact the wheel from 45 mm distance

These wheel sensors monitoring the wagons passing over the weighing platform, ordering the beginning and the end of the weighing process of each bogie. Juction box make the link between those two wheels sensor and and the electronic module which processes the four electrical signals.To amplify the transmited electrical signals, the inductive sensors connects to the conversion module. This amplifies and format the signals. Conversion module digital outputs are conncted to the digital inputs of the digital display IT9000E I/O modules, where are compared between them, as phasis, to determine the direction and the wheels position on the load receptor.

Digital weighing display has certificate type CE and realise 800 reads/s of the loadcells, for exactlyreading mass moving bogie, according to realtime reading algorithm.

Digital weighing display has automatically zero adjust for compensate deviations because mud, snowetc. accumulation on the weighing platform. This function is automatically cancelled during weighing process.

IT9000E digital weighing display receive and processes the signal from loadcells and from the railway sensors. By simultaneous processing obtains, stores, displays, prints and send to PC station via Ethernet interface, results from weighing process.

Weighing software, which runs into the digital weighing display, performs dinamic trainsets weighing, bogie with bogie and calculates each wagon mass and total train mass, speeds, etc. This keeps in digital weighing display memory, coresponding weighing process for the entire train and communicate via Ethernet inteface with operator printer.

Data transmission from the weighing terminal is wireless, using an industrial Ethernet access point ADVANTECH with 26dBm with 8 dBi directional built-in anntena, which ensure an stable data connection for industrial environment. Wireless connection is secured using the newest encryption technologies. Using STP, WMM and IGMP protocols ensures an reliable wireless connection.

3. WEIGHING SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

In the following , are described operating principle and operating procedures of the dinamic wagons weighing system with solid products. The system realise:

LOCAL OPERATION

Weighing terminal operation can be done:a. Local: from the alphanumeric interface of digital weighing displayb. Remote: through Ethernet interface of digital weighing display

Local, the operator is guided through the intuitive color interface of the IT9000E terminal. Datas are introduced by the alphanumeric keyboard membrane type of the IT9000E.

Tipical weighing operations that uses digital weighing display interface are:

Select „Start” key ID operator indtroduction Train series introduction Weighing process start The system weights all the wagons and shows weighing data The system stops the weighing Is printed the weighing ticket (automatic printing active) Datas are transmitted to the PC station End of the weighing process - the system waits the next train

Weighing datas for each train are automatically stored in FIFO type memory of weighing terminal. The weighed trains exit automatically from the operation status. Depends on the weighing result, it passes through the completed trains or cancelled trains (available in the „Records” submenu). In case of finished trains, the values of each train component wagon are updated. Pushing the „Cancel” key the operator manually cancel the operating train. Running in good conditions of the weighing process is signaled by a signaling system (flashing light, traffic light, alphanumeric exterior display) placed right near the weighing platform, according to chosen option.

3. WEIGHING SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

REMOTE OPERATION

Weighing software installed on Pc station manage the pending trains, operating trains, complete and cancelled. The software allow to weight the wagons (empty or full) component of an operating train, those can be clustered into maneuver convoys.

Weighing software allows two distinct modes of operation:

Train operation Convoy operation

At a given moment, it can’t exist only a single train or a single convoy in operation.Convoys can be parts of a certain train or a full/empty wagon array from one or more trains in operating mode. Each convoy will be weighed one single time to determine the values of TARA/GROSS of the component wagons. These wagons are characterized by de wagon series, train series from which they come and the weighing number (may be the first weighing W1, or the second weighing W2). The convoy is characterized by the wagons number, steam-engine position and convoy ID (automatically generated by the weighing system for each weight in part).

Each train is characterized by the train series and the component wagons list. Wagons order isn’t important because each wagon is identified by series. After each wagon is weight two times – empty and full – a scale ticket will be issued which will include all wagons list that are identified after their number, GROSS/NET/TARA values. When the weighing ticket is printed, train component wagons order, will be the one who corresponding with the wagons introduction.

After the full/empty weighing is completed for each wagon – identified with wagon series – component of a train (excluding the cancelled wagons by the operator which appear with null value GROSS/TARA), this train could be passed by the operator to the completed trains. The scale ticket could be printed for the completed trains and those who have completed all the mandatory fields.If all the wagons component of a train in operation are completed and if you don’t want to repeat the weighing of any wagon, the operator can put the selected train into the completed trains list if he push the „Complete” button. The trains who were canceled are those trains that, for various reasons, cannot be weighed. The selected train can be canceled by the operator just pushing the „Cancel” button.

Notes: The wagon series will be introduced correctly to avoid operation errors; the weighing software will check

the wagon series accuracy; Raports/statistics could be generated from the operator’s PC station or from any network PC station which

has access to the weighing sofware database.
