    Preface

    Purpose This handbook describes the Evolium A9112 Micro Node B and Side SupportCabinet (SSC) maintenance procedures. It breaks down each maintenancetask into a series of step-by-step instructions, and lists the tools and materialsrequired.

    Note: Your network may not include all of the hardware modules covered in thishandbook.

    This section describes how to replace the A9112 Micro Node B and SideSupport Cabinet RITs.

    1 Replace Micro Node B RITs

    1.1 Replacement Principles

    1.1.1 Prerequisites

    The following prerequisites apply to replacement procedures:

    You must read the General Safety Instructions for Evolium Node B / BTS

    before performing any maintenance procedures.

    Become familiar with electrostatic precautions.

    Know how to use the Evolium Node B terminal.

    Establish an efficient means of communication with an A1353-UR OMC-R

    operator in order to perform Micro Node B commands when required.

    1.1.2 Tools and Materials

    The operator must have:

    An anti-static wrist strap

    Hand tools specified in the relevant procedures

    A serviceable replacement RIT with an identical part number, unless

    stated otherwise.

    1.1.3 Impact on System

    The impact on the system depends on the nature of the RIT and its position inthe system. Refer to the specific replacement procedures in this section.

    1.1.4 Restrictions

    None.

    1.2 Replace Micro Node B Unit

    For detailed information on the Micro Node B, refer to Micro Node B Mechanicsin the Evolium A9112 Micro Node B Hardware Description.

    1.2.1 Micro Node B Versions

    Micro Node B is equipped with one of the following BB versions:

    MBBA is the first-generation BB board in Micro Node 3BK26791 AACx.

    MBBC is the second-generation BB board in Micro Node 3BK26791 ABAx.

    Only a Micro Node B equipped with MBBC is HSDPA-capable.Therefore, if HSDPA is in use or planned, never replace an MBBC-equippedMicro Node B with an MBBA-equipped Micro Node B.You can, however, replace an MBBA-equipped Micro Node B with anMBBC-equipped Micro Node B under any circumstances.

    To identify the Micro Node B version you can:

    Refer to the equipment label on the right side of the Micro Node B housing.

    Refer to [ Labels ] in the Evolium A9112 Micro Node B Hardware Description.

    Use the Node B terminal and check the RIT name in Tree View, Hardware

    Modules, Baseband Unit, RIT Name. Refer to the Evolium Node B NEM-B

    User Guide.

    1.2.2 Tools and Impacts

    1.2.2.1 Tools and Materials

    The operator must have:

    A small flathead screwdriver

    A medium flathead screwdriver

    A medium crosshead screwdriver

    Pliers for antenna disconnection

    A TORX screwdriver

    Equipment suitable for lifting the Micro Node B housing from its mounting

    Node B terminal and an Ethernet (100Base TX category5/UTP Cross)

    communication link cable to connect it to the MMI-ETH port. The MMI-ETH

    port is located on the MCON of the COBO.Refer to the Evolium Node B NEM-B User Guide for information on how touse the terminal.

    1.2.2.2 Impact on System

    All telecommunications resources are lost when the Micro Node B is locked.

    1.2.3 Replace Micro Node B Unit

    Heavy EquipmentThe Micro Node B weighs 25 kg. Injury to personnel and damage to equipmentcan result if it is dropped or otherwise mishandled.

    Use suitable equipment to lift the Micro Node B. Do NOT lift it from the mountingframe until it is properly supported.

    1.2.3.1 Dismount Micro Node B

    If the protective cover is used, go to step (1). If no protective cover is used,go to step (2).

    Heavy EquipmentUse suitable equipment to lift the Micro Node B. Do NOT lift it from the mountingframe until it is properly supported.

    To dismount the Micro Node B:

    1. Open the front protective cover on the Micro Node completely until the frontcover is fastened with the magnetic clip to access the COBO.

    2. Loosen the retaining bolts on the front cover of the COBO and removeit from the COBO base.

    3. Connect the Node B terminal to the MMI-ETH port on the MCON in theCOBO. See the figure MCON Layout (5)for the position of the MMIconnector.

    4. Use the Node B terminal to display the following information and noteit for use later in the procedure:

    All module states

    All outstanding alarms

    All basic configuration

    All IP settings.

    If connection to the Micro Node B is not possible (for example, if the internalhardware crashes), go directly to step 8.

    5. Use the Node B terminal to set the Micro Node B communication state tooffline (allocation of configuration rights). This prohibits A1353-UR OMC-Rmanagement.

    6. Use the Node B terminal to back up the Micro Node B configuration data.Enter the backup FTP root directory. The MSUMU then automatically putsthe backup file on the FTP server.

    7. Use the Node B terminal to set the Micro Node B administrative state tolocked. This removes telecommunications traffic.

    8. Remove the AC power plug from the bottom of the Micro Node B.

    If the optional fan module is installed in the cover top, disconnect the powerand alarm cables to the fan from the COBO. See the figure ACCO Layout (4)

    for the position of the AC and fan connectors.

    9. If the protective cover is used, loosen its retaining bolts and remove the frontcover. Otherwise continue with the next step.

    10. Remove the antenna connectors at the bottom of the Micro Node B, carefullynoting their positions for reconnection.

    11. Place the lifting equipment (manual lift with handwheel and handle, or crane)in position next to the mounting frame and secure it to the Micro Node B.

    12. Loosen the bolts that secure the Micro Node B in position (two bolts on theCOBO and two bolts on the top of the Micro Node B housing).

    13. Lift the Micro Node B clear of the mounting points at the top of the mountingframe and free of the Micro Node B connector at the top of the COBO.

    1.2.3.2 Install Micro Node B

    To install the new Micro Node B:

    1. Lift the replacement Micro Node B onto the mounting points at the top of themounting frame. Then, lower the Micro Node B carefully onto the mountingframe to engage with the Micro Node B connector at the top of the COBO.

    2. Tighten the four bolts (two bolts on the COBO and two bolts on the top of theMicro Node B housing.) to secure the Micro Node B in position.

    3. Detach the lifting equipment from the Micro Node B and pull it clear fromthe mounting frame.

    4. Replace the antenna connectors. Make sure you connect it to the correctconnector.

    5. Tighten the screw-connector by hand, then shake the cable a little. Using thespecific tightening tool, tighten firmly with the torque listed below.

    6. Reconnect the AC power plug to the bottom of the Micro Node B.

    7. If applicable, reconnect the power and alarm cables to the fan from theCOBO.

    8. Replace the front protective cover in position over the Micro Node B.

    1.2.3.3 Restore Telecommunications Resources

    To restore telecommunications resources:

    1. Power on the Micro Node B. Wait until the green LED PS_OK and yellowLED OP are lit up. If power is on and OK, the Micro Node B is operational.

    2. Use the Node B terminal to check that the communication state indicatoris green (Micro Node B is offline). Otherwise, set the Micro Node Bcommunication state to offline (allocation of configuration rights). Thisprohibits A1353-UR OMC-R management.

    3. Use the Node B terminal to lock the Micro Node B.

    4. Use the Node B terminal to enter the Micro Node B IP address and namesas noted in step 4 of the dismount procedure.

    If connection to the old Micro Node B is not possible, if for example the MicroNode B crashes, ask the A1353-UR OMC-R operator for the basic configurationand IP address settings for the new Micro Node B.

    5. Use the Node B terminal to trigger a software replacement of the MicroNode B to ensure the correct software is loaded on the new Micro Node B.Use the Node B terminal to set the code server path in the SUMU to allowoperational software download. Refer to Set CodeServer in the EvoliumNode B NEM-B and RIUT User Guide.

    6. Use the Node B terminal to restore the configuration data as noted in step6 of the previous procedure, using the same FTP server address. TheMicro Node B performs an auto-reset and reboots. Check that the MicroNode B is unlocked; if not, unlock it.

    7. Use the Node B terminal to display the states of all the modules and all theoutstanding alarms and ensure they are the same as those in step 4.

    8. Use the Node B terminal to set the Micro Node B communication state toonline (release the configuration rights). This re-enables A1353-UR OMC-Rmanagement.

    After this local operation, the user and the password falls back to the initialstate (default keyset). Inform the OMC-R operator to assign the correct keyset to this Node B.Refer to the Evolium A1353-UR OMC-R Administration Handbook.

    9. Contact the A1353-UR OMC-R for confirmation of site status and examinethe test calls for the final check.

    10. Disconnect the Node B terminal.

    11. Replace the COBO front cover in position over the base, and then tightenthe retaining bolts.

    12. Close the protective cover, if applicable.

    1.3 Replace Fuses and E1 Lightning Protection in COBO

    The following RITs are located inside the COBO:

    Fuses for Micro Node B power supply and fan

    E1 lightning protection.

    The COBO is located inside the bottom section of the protective cover onthe Micro Node B.

    For detailed information on this unit, refer to COBO in the Evolium A9112Micro Node B Hardware Description.

    1.3.1 Tools and Materials

    You must have:

    A medium flathead screwdriver

    An Allen key for COBO hatch

    The Node B terminal and an Ethernet (100Base TX category5/UTP Cross)

    communication link cable to connect it to the MMI-ETH port. The MMI-ETH

    port is located on the MCON of the COBO. Refer to the Evolium Node B

    NEM-B User Guide for information on how to use the terminal.

    1.3.2 Impact on System

    All telecommunications resources are lost when the Micro Node B is locked.

    1.3.3 Remove Fuses and E1 Lightning Protection

    Equipment Shock HazardPossible death or serious physical harm to personnel and damage to equipmentcan result if the power to the equipment is not removed.

    To remove a fuse or lightning protection unit:

    1. If applicable, open the front protective cover on the Micro Node B completelyuntil the front cover is fastened by the magnetic clip to access the COBO.

    2. Loosen the retaining bolts on the front cover of the COBO and removeit from the COBO base.

    3. Connect the Node B terminal to the MMI-ETH port on the MCON inthe COBO. See the figure MCON Layout (5) for the position of the MMIconnector.

    4. Use the Node B terminal to note module states and alarms.

    5. Use the Node B terminal to set the Micro Node B communication state tooffline (allocation of configuration rights). This prohibits A1353-UR OMC-Rmanagement.

    6. Use the Node B terminal to set the Micro Node B administrative state tolocked. This removes telecommunications traffic.

    7. Switch the:

    AC power supply to the COBO OFF

    Side Support Cabinet supply to COBO, if appropriate.

    8. Remove the appropriate faulty fuse or protection unit. The following items

    are replaceable:

    Micro Node B power supply fuses (2 x 2.5 A) and fan fuses (2 x 1.25 A)Refer to the figure ACCO Layout (4)for the position of the AC and fanfuses.

    E1 lightning protection (eight modules).Refer to the figure MCON Layout (5)for the position of the E1 lightningprotection elements.

    1.3.4 Replace Fuses and E1 Lightning Protection

    To replace a fuse or lightning protection unit:

    1. Insert the new power supply fuse or E1 lightning protection unit.

    2. Switch the AC power supply ON to the COBO.

    Switch the SSCsupply ON to the COBO, if appropriate.

    3. Wait until the green LED PS_OK and yellow LED OP are lit up. If power ison and OK, the Micro Node B is now operational.

    4. Use the Node B terminal to check that the communication state indicatoris green (Micro Node B is offline). Otherwise, set the Micro Node Bcommunication state to offline (allocation of configuration rights). Thisprohibits A1353-UR OMC-R management.

    5. Use the Node B terminal to display the states of all the MOs and allthe outstanding alarms.

    6. Use the Node B terminal to set the Micro Node B communication state to

    online (release the configuration rights). This re-enables A1353-UR OMC-Rmanagement.

    7. Use the Node B terminal to set the Micro Node B state to unlocked.

    After this local operation, the user and the password falls back to the initialstate (default keyset). Inform the OMC-R operator to assign the correct keyset to this Node B.Refer to the Evolium A1353-UR OMC-R Administration Handbook.

    8. Contact the A1353-UR OMC-R for confirmation of site status and examinetest calls for the final check.

    9. Disconnect the Node B terminal.

    10. Replace the COBO front cover in position over the base, and then tightenthe retaining bolts.

    11. Close the bottom section of the front protective cover on the Micro NodeB, and lock it.

    1.4 Replace ACCO

    The ACCO is located inside the COBO and contains the AC lightning protection.To replace the lightning protection, you must replace the entire ACCO board.

    For detailed information on this unit, refer to ACCO in the Evolium A9112

    Micro Node B Hardware Description.

    1.4.1 Tools and Materials

    You must have:

    A medium flathead screwdriver

    Allen key for COBO hatch

    TORX and Pozidriv screwdriver

    Node B terminal and an Ethernet (100Base TX category5/UTP Cross)

    communication link cable to connect it to the MMI-ETH port. The MMI-ETH

    port is located on the MCON of the COBO. Refer to the Evolium Node B

    NEM-B User Guide for information on how to use the terminal.

    1.4.2 Impact on System

    All telecommunications resources are lost when the Micro Node B is locked.

    1.4.3 Remove ACCO

    Equipment Shock HazardPossible death or serious physical harm to personnel and damage to equipmentcan result if power to the equipment is not shut down.

    To remove the ACCO RIT:

    1. If applicable, open the front protective cover on the Micro Node B until thefront cover is fastened with the magnetic clip to access the COBO.

    2. Loosen the retaining bolts on the front cover of the COBO and removeit from the COBO base.

    3. Connect the Node B terminal to the MMI-ETH port on the MCON in theCOBO. See the figure MCON Layout (5)for the position of the MMIconnector.

    4. Note MO states and alarms.

    5. Use the Node B terminal to set the Micro Node B communication state tooffline (allocation of configuration rights). This prohibits A1353-UR OMC-Rmanagement.

    6. Use the Node B terminal to set the Micro Node B administrative state tolocked. This removes telecommunications traffic.

    7. Switch the:

    AC power supply OFF to the COBO

    SSCsupply OFF to the COBO, if appropriate.

    8. Disconnect the AC power connections from the AC Mains In clamp strip,

    carefully noting their positions for reconnection.

    9. If applicable, repeat step 8for the AC power connections to the top fan.

    10. Unplug the AC connector that is hard-wired to the ACCO and plugged intothe bottom of the Micro Node B through the top side of the COBO.

    11. Remove the four screws from the corners of the ACCO and remove theboard from the COBO.

    1. Insert the replacement ACCO and replace the four screws securing itto the COBO.

    2. Plug the AC connector that is hard-wired to the ACCO into the bottom of theMicro Node B through the top side of the COBO.

    3. If applicable, reconnect the AC power to the top fan.

    4. Reconnect the AC power connections to the AC Mains In clamp strip.

    5. .Switch the:

    AC power supply ON to the COBO

    SSCsupply ON to the COBO, if appropriate.

    6. Wait until the green LED PS_OK and yellow LED OP are lit up. If poweris on and OK, the Micro Node B is operational.

    Heavy EquipmentThe Micro Node B weighs 25 kg. Injury to personnel and damage to equipmentcan result if it is dropped or otherwise mishandled.Use suitable equipment to lift the Micro Node B. Do NOT lift it until it isproperly supported.

    1.5.3 Prepare MCON Removal

    Equipment Shock HazardPossible death or serious physical harm to personnel and damage to equipmentcan result if power to the equipment is not shut down.

    Before removing the MCON RIT:

    1. If applicable, open the front protective cover on the Micro Node B completelyuntil the front cover is fastened by the magnetic clip to access the COBO.

    2. Loosen the retaining bolts on the front cover of the COBO and removethe cover from the COBO base.

    3. Connect the Node B terminal to the MMI-ETH port on the MCON in theCOBO. See the figure MCON Layout (5)for the position of the MMIconnector.

    4. Use the Node B terminal to set the Micro Node B communication state to

    offline (allocation of configuration rights). This prohibits A1353-UR OMC-Rmanagement.

    5. Use the Node B terminal to set the Micro Node B administrative state tolocked. This removes telecommunications traffic.

    6. Using the Node B terminal, display and note the following information for usein Final Checks (Section 1.5.6) :

    Antenna mapping

    External alarm mapping

    Additional modules (for example: cover, fan, SSC, VSWR)

    Micro Node B site name.

    7. Switch the:

    AC power supply OFF to the Micro Node B

    SSCsupply OFF to the Micro Node B, if appropriate.

    1.5.4 Remove MCON

    To remove the MCON RIT:

    1. Disconnect the E1 cables from ports 1 to 4, carefully noting the position ofeach wire for reconnection.

    2. Disconnect the alarm cables from the alarm clamp strips, carefully noting theposition of each wire for reconnection.

    3. Detach the GND cable from the MCON board.

    4. Remove the AC power plug from the bottom of the Micro Node B.

    If the optional fan module is installed in the top of the cover, disconnect thepower and alarm cables to the fan from the COBO.

    5. If the protective cover is used, loosen its retaining bolts and remove the frontcover. Otherwise continue with the next step.

    6. Remove the antenna connectors at the bottom of the Micro Node B, carefullynoting their positions for reconnection.

    7. Place the lifting equipment (manual lift with handwheel and handle, or crane)in position next to the mounting frame and secure it to the Micro Node B.

    8. Loosen the bolts that secure the Micro Node B in position. (Two bolts on theCOBO, two bolts on the top of the Micro Node B.)

    9. Lift the Micro Node B carefully several centimeters until connectors X100and X320 at the top of the MCON board are free. Then dismount the MicroNode B completely and remove it until the MCON is replaced.

    10. Disengage the MCON from the Micro Node B connector at the top edge ofthe board, and remove it from the COBO.

    1.5.5 Replace MCON

    To replace the MCON RIT:

    1. Insert the replacement MCON in the COBO.

    2. Replace the Micro Node on the MOFRA. Then lower the Micro Node

    B carefully onto the mounting frame to engage with the Micro Node Bconnector at the top of the MCON.

    3. Tighten the four bolts (two at the top of the housing, two attached to COBO)to secure the Micro Node B in position.

    4. Detach the lifting equipment from the Micro Node B and pull it clear fromthe mounting frame.

    5. Replace the front protective cover in position over the Micro Node B.

    6. Connect the GND cable to the MCON board.

    7. Reconnect the E1 and alarm cables to the clamp strips.

    8. Replace the antenna connectors. Make sure you connect it to the correctconnector.

    9. Tighten the screw antenna connector by hand, then shake the cable a little.Using the specific tightening tool, tighten firmly with the torque listed below.

    1. Using the Node B terminal, update the following as noted in step 6in PrepareMCON Removal.

    Antenna mapping

    External alarm mapping

    Additional modules (for example: Cover, fan, SSC, VSWR)

    Micro Node B site name.

    2. Using the Node B terminal, update the Remote Inventory EEPROM with thecommissioning (current installation) date.

    3. Using the Node B terminal, unlock the Micro Node B.

    After this local operation, the user and the password falls back to the initialstate (default keyset). Inform the OMC-R operator to assign the correct key

    set to this Node B.Refer to the Evolium A1353-UR OMC-R Administration Handbook.

    4. Using the Node B terminal, check that there are no outstanding alarms onthe Micro Node B.

    5. Disconnect the Node B terminal.

    6. Replace the COBO front cover in position over the base, and then tightenthe retaining bolts.

    7. Close the bottom section of the front protective cover on the Micro NodeB, and lock it.

    1.6 Replace Fan Cassette

    The optional fan cassette is located inside the top of the protective cover (withfan) on the Micro Node B.

    1.6.1 Tools and Materials

    You must have:

    A big flathead screwdriver

    1.6.2 Impact on System

    There is no loss of telecommunications resources when the fan module isreplaced.

    1.6.3 Replace Fan Cassette

    To replace a fan cassette RIT:

    1. Unlock the top section of the front protective cover on the Micro Node B,and open it to expose the fan cassette inside.

    2. Disconnect the cable coupling of the fan cassette and remove the fan

    cassette from the housing; that is, place the flathead screwdriver into oneof the grooves in the middle of the frame of the fan cassette to disengagethe cassette. Simultaneously place the strap at the end of the fan cassetteand pull it out.

    3. Replace it with a new cassette, engage it, and connect the cable coupling.

    4. Close the top section of the front protective cover on the Micro NodeB and lock it.

    5. Unlock the bottom section of the front protective cover on the Micro Node B,open it upwards, and fasten it to the front cover with an installed magneticsnap-on fastening to expose the COBO.

    6. Loosen the retaining bolts on the front cover of the COBO and remove the

    front cover from the COBO base.

    3. Using the Node B terminal, set the part number in the Micro Node B remote

    inventory Additional Module field.

    4. Using the Node B terminal, check that there are no outstanding alarms onthe Micro Node B.

    5. Disconnect the Node B terminal.

    6. Replace the COBO front cover in position over the base, and then tightenthe retaining bolts.

    7. Close the bottom section of the front protective cover on the Micro NodeB, and lock it.

    1.7 Replace Top of Cover with Fan

    The optional top of cover with fan is located at the top of the protective cover ofthe Micro Node B instead of the normal top cover.

    Note: The Micro Node Bs installed in the field can have covers of different colors. It isimportant to select a replacement top of cover with the correct color beforestarting the replacement procedure.

    For detailed information on this unit, refer to the section Top Cover with FanCassette in the Evolium A9112 Micro Node B Hardware Description.

    1.7.1 Tools and Materials

    You must have:

    A medium crosshead screwdriver

    An Allen key (M4)

    Side cutting pliers

    Two cable ties, approximately 10 cm in length

    Node B terminal and an Ethernet (100Base TX category5/UTP Cross)

    communication link cable to connect it to the MMI-ETH port. Refer to

    the Evolium Node B NEM-B User Guide for information on how to use

    the terminal.

    1.7.2 Impact on System

    There is no loss of telecommunications resources when the top of cover withthe fan module is replaced.

    1.7.3 Remove Top of Cover

    To remove the top of cover with fan RIT:

    1. Unlock the bottom section of the front protective cover on the Micro Node B,open it upwards, and fasten it to the front cover with the installed magneticsnap-on fastening.

    2. Loosen the retaining bolts on the front cover of the COBO and remove

    it from the COBO base.

    3. Connect the Node B terminal to the MMI-ETH port on the MCON in theCOBO.

    4. Using the Node B terminal, note the alarms and the additional modulesettings for the fan hat.

    5. Disconnect the couplings of the two cables which connect the COBO andthe top of cover with fan. If secured, cut the cable ties.

    6. Loosen the two retaining screws of the front cover of the Micro Node B onboth sides of the cover. Lift up the complete front/bottom/top cover andremove it from the Micro Node B.

    1.7.4 Replace Top of Cover

    To replace the top of cover with fan RIT:

    1. Cut the cable ties at the inside of the front cover.

    2. Loosen the three retaining screws of the top of cover, replace the top of

    cover with a new one, and tighten the retaining screws.

    3. Secure the two cables of the top of cover with fan module inside the frontcover by using cable ties.

    4. Lift up the complete front/bottom/top cover, place it over the Micro Node Band the protective back panel, tighten the retaining screws, and connectthe cable couplings.

    5. Loosen the retaining bolts on the front cover of the COBO and removeit from the COBO base.

    1.7.5 Update Remote Inventory

    To update the Micro Node B remote inventory:

    1. Connect the Node B terminal to the MMI port inside the COBO.

    2. Using the Node B terminal, set the part number in the Micro Node B remoteinventory Additional Module field.

    3. Using the Node B terminal, check that there are no outstanding alarms onthe Micro Node B.

    4. Disconnect the Node B terminal.

    5. Replace the COBO front cover in position over the base, and then tightenthe retaining bolts.

    6. Close the bottom section of the front protective cover on the Micro NodeB, and lock it.

    1.8.1.3 Remove SSCB

    To remove the SSCB RIT:

    1. Insert the key in the door lock and turn it clockwise to unlock the door. Turnthe doorknob to the release position, and then pull the door open.

    2. Press [ Back up ] in the Connector Field. The red LED on the right turns ON.

    3. Disconnect the following cables:

    Ventilation valve cable

    X8 and X9 cables

    Temperature sensor cable from its coupling

    Ground cable.

    Ventilation valve cable

    5. Disconnect (pull apart) the temperature sensor cable coupling.

    6. Disconnect the ground cable (yellow/green) on the distribution clamp fromthe bottom right side.

    7. Remove the four retaining screws on the front cover of the battery unit.

    8. Slide out the battery unit on the rails and then lift it off.

    1.8.1.4 Replace SSCB

    To replace the SSCB RIT:

    1. Make sure that the back holding clamps are in position. If they are not, thebattery cannot be correctly inserted.

    2. Slide in a new charged battery unit on the rails at a 20 angle.

    3. Push the battery unit to the back.4. Push the front part down until the battery unit is in a horizontal position.

    5. Secure the battery unit to the front panel with four screws and specialwashers.

    6. Open the cover of the fuse box on the battery unit and feed the ground cablethrough the rubber nozzle and then close the cover.

    7. Reconnect the following cables:

    The ground cable to the yellow/green distribution clamp on the right side

    on the bottom of the SSC (as disconnected in step 6of "Remove SSCB")

    The temperature sensor cable coupling (as disconnected in step 5of"Remove SSCB")

    The two 6-pole Mate-N-Locks (these can be used in any order as false

    polarity is protected by a mechanical code)

    Feed the ventilation valve in the cable entry area through a PG gland

    on the bottom and into the free cable screw joint on the battery unit.

    Then fasten the screw joint.

    8. Press the [ Back up ] button in the Connector Field. The red LED on theright goes OUT.

    9. Close and lock the door.

    1.8.2 Replace SSC Power Supply

    The RIT part number of the SSCPS is 3BK 25011 AA.

    1.8.2.3 Replace SSCPS

    To replace a SSCPS RIT:

    1. Insert the key in the door lock and turn it clockwise to unlock the door. Turnthe doorknob to the release position, and then pull the door open.

    2. Loosen the four retaining screws of the SSCPS to be replaced.

    3. Pull out the SSCPS and replace it with a new one.

    4. Fasten the retaining screws.

    5. Check that the corresponding green LED in the Connector Field is ON. PS1corresponds to POWER SUPPLY 1, PS2 corresponds to POWER SUPPLY2, and PS3 corresponds to CHARGER.

    5. Replace the SSCFH with a new one and reconnect the outer fan cablewires to the clamps as noted earlier.

    6. Put the new SSCFH in the correct position and fasten it with the tworetaining screws.

    7. Reconnect the power supply cable and the inner and outer fan cables as

    noted earlier.8. On the Connector Field, press [ FAN-Test ] and check acoustically that the

    new fan is running.

    9. Press the [ FAN-Test ] again to stop the check.

    10. Close and lock the door.

    1.8.4 Replace SSC External Fan

    The RIT part number of the SSCF is 3BK 25014 AA.

    The module can be replaced without switching off the power. To disconnect theconnection cable, you must first remove the SSCFH.

    1.8.4.3 Replace SSCF

    To replace the SSCF RIT:

    1. Remove the two retaining screws of the external fan cover at the top ofthe SSC. Lift the front side of this cover and remove it from the lockingdevice at the back.

    2. Insert the key in the door lock and turn it clockwise to unlock the door. Turnthe door knob to the release position, and then pull the door open.

    3. Disconnect the power supply cable and the inner and outer fan cablesfrom the SSCFH.

    4. Support the SSCFH before removing the two retaining screws (and washers)

    and then pull it out.

    5. Disconnect the outer fan cable wires from the clamps, carefully noting theposition of each for reconnecting the new cable.

    6. Feed the outer fan cable through the rubber nozzle at the top of the SSC sothat it can be removed when removing the outer fan.

    7. Unscrew the four M4 retaining nuts fastening the outer fan.

    8. Remove the outer fan (and cable), replace it with a new one and fasten thenew one with nuts and washers from the old one.

    1.8.4.4 Connect New SSCF

    To connect the new SSCF:

    1. Feed the new outer fan cable through the rubber nozzle at the top of the SSC.

    2. Take the SSCFH and connect the new outer fan cable wires to the clamps asnoted earlier.

    3. Put the SSCFH in the correct position and fasten it with the two retainingscrews.

    4. Reconnect the power supply cable and the inner and outer fan cables asnoted earlier.

    5. On the Connector Field, press [ FAN-Test ] and check that the new fan isrunning.

    6. Press the [ FAN-Test ] button again to stop the check.

    7. Close and lock the door.

    8. Put the cover of the external fan into the locking device at the top of the SSC

    and fasten the front side of the cover with two retaining screws.

    1.8.5 Replace SSC Connection Field

    The RIT part number of the SSCCF is 3BK 25012 AA.

    Hot swapping is not allowed.This module cannot be replaced unless the power is switched off.

    1.8.5.1 Tools and Materials

    You must have:

    A small, pointed, flathead screwdriver

    Node B terminal and an Ethernet (100Base TX category5/UTP Cross)

    communication link cable to connect it to the MMI-ETH port. The MMI-ETH

    port is located on the MCON of the COBO. Refer to the Evolium Node B

    NEM-B User Guide for information on how to use the terminal.

    1.8.5.2 Impact on System

    All telecommunications resources are lost when the Micro Node B is locked.

    1.8.5.3 Prepare SSCCF Replacement

    To prepare the a SSC Connection Field RIT replacement:

    1. Unlock the bottom section of the front protective cover on the Micro Node B,open it upwards, and fasten it to the front cover with the installed magneticsnap-on fastening to expose the COBO.

    2. Loosen the retaining bolts on the front cover of the COBO and removeit from the COBO base.

    3. Connect the Node B terminal to the MMI-ETH port on the MCON in theCOBO.

    4. Use the Node B terminal to set the Micro Node B communication state tooffline (allocation of configuration rights). This prohibits A1353-UR OMC-R

    management.

    5. Use the Node B terminal to set the Micro Node B administrative state tolocked. This removes telecommunications traffic.

    1.8.5.4 Replace SSCCF

    To replace a SSC Connection Field RIT:

    1. Insert the key in the SSC door lock and turn it clockwise to unlock the door.Turn the door knob to the release position, and then pull the door open.

    2. Press [ Back up ] in the Connector Field to activate the red OFF LEDon the right.

    3. Turn off the main power switch (position 0).

    4. Disconnect all cables connected with the connectors X2, X3, X4, X9, X10,X11, carefully noting the position of each for reconnection.

    5. Disconnect all cables connected with the clamps X5, X6, X7, X8, X12 bydisconnecting each discrete wire, carefully noting the position of each wireand each cable for reconnection.

    6. Remove the six retaining screws at the front plate. Support the front plateand tip it forward.

    7. Disconnect the two cables connected at the back of the front plate andremove the front plate.

    8. Pull out the electronic part of the SSCCF and replace it with a new one. Makesure that all boards are in their guide rails, then push it fully into the slot.

    1.8.5.5 Connect New SSCCFTo connect the new SSCCF RIT:

    1. Reconnect the cables of the electronic part of the SSCCF to the back of thefront plate and fasten the front plate with the six retaining screws.

    2. Reconnect all cables and wires to the clamps and connectors asdisconnected and noted in steps 4step 5 of "Replace SSCCF".

    3. Turn on the main power switch (position 1).

    4. If the red backup LED OFF is activated, press [ Back up ] to activate thebackup function (LED OFF is deactivated).

    5. On the Micro Node B wait until the green LED PS_OK and yellow LED OPare lit up. If power is on and OK, the Micro Node B is now operational.

    1.8.5.6 Final Checks

    1. Use the Node B terminal to check that thecommunication state indicatoris green (Micro Node B is offline). Otherwise, set the Micro Node Bcommunication state to offline (allocation of configuration rights). Thisprohibits A1353-UR OMC-R management.

    2. Use the Node B terminal to display the states of all the MOs and allthe outstanding alarms.

    3. Use the Node B terminal to set the Micro Node B communication state toonline (release the configuration rights). This re-enables A1353-UR OMC-Rmanagement.

    4. Use the Node B terminal to set the Micro Node B state to unlocked.

    After this local operation, the user and the password falls back to the initialstate (default keyset). Inform the OMC-R operator to assign the correct keyset to this Node B.Refer to the Evolium A1353-UR OMC-R Administration Handbook.

    5. Disconnect the Node B terminal.

    6. Replace the COBO front cover in position over the base, and then tightenthe retaining bolts.

    7. Close the bottom section of the front protective cover on the Micro NodeB, and lock it.

    8. Close and lock the SSC door.

    2. Remove the four retaining screws on the external cover of the AC connectorfield at the bottom of the SSC, and then lift it off.

    2.2.2.1 Tools and Materials

    The operator must have:

    A frequency counter with a resolution of 0.001 Hz at 2.16 MHz (Fluke

    PM6685R, 3BK25198AAAA)

    A BNC cable for connecting the frequency counter to the Micro Node B

    A Node B terminal and an Ethernet communication link cable (100Base TX

    category5/UTP Cross) to connect it to the MMI-ETH port. The MMI-ETH

    port is located on the front panel of the MSUMU.Refer to the Evolium Node B NEM-B User Guide for information on how touse the terminal.

    2.2.2.2 Impact on System

    None.

    2.2.3 Adjust Clock

    The clock adjustment is applicable when the Node B clock is in free runningmode only.

    2.2.3.1 Connect Frequency Counter

    To connect the frequency counter:

    1. Unlock the bottom section of the front protective cover on the Micro Node B,

    open it upwards, and fasten it to the front cover with the installed magneticsnap-on fastening to expose the COBO.

    2. Loosen the retaining bolts on the front cover of the COBO and removeit from the COBO base.

    3. Connect the Node B terminal to the MMI-ETH port on the MCON in theCOBO.

    4. Install and start the frequency counter.

    5. Connect the frequency counter to the clock output connector X102 onMCON.

    2.2.3.2 Adjust Local MSUMU Clock

    To adjust the local MSUMU clock:

    1. Open the NEM-B Clock Configuration window and note the CurrentClock Synchronization value. Set the Clock Synchronization mode tofree-running.

    2. On the frequency counter:

    Select a high input impedance (1 MOhm).

    Select a long measurement time (at least 10 seconds).

    Choose a high sensitivity level (about 2 V).

    Check that the frequency counter warm-up is sufficient (minimum of 10minutes).

    3. Wait until triggering occurs on the input signal port of the frequency counter.Then proceed as follows:

    If the indicated frequency is between 2 166 666.658 Hz and 2 166

    666.676 Hz, go to step 5.

    If not, an adjustment is necessary. Go to step 4.

    4. Use the Node B terminal (see theEvolium Node B NEM-B User Guide) toadjust the MBS clock for a frequency of between 2 166 666.658 Hz and2 166 666.676 Hz.

    5. When the adjustment is finished, open the Clock Configurationwindow andreset the Clock Synchronization to its initial value as noted in step 1.

    6. Disconnect the frequency counter from MCON.

    7. Disconnect the MMI cable from the MCON and remove the terminal.

    8. Replace the COBO front cover in position over the base, and tighten theretaining bolts.

    9. Close the bottom section of the front protective cover on the Micro NodeB, and lock it.
