  • 7. Initiatives towards Faculty Development Program: NIL 8. Total number of seminars/workshops conducted: Two

    One day Seminar entitled “Role of Natural and Synthetic Chemicals in the

    service of Mankind” was organized by the Department of Chemistry of

    the College on October 11, 2012 (Thursday). Prof. A.K. Bakshi, Vice-

    Chancellor, Rajarshi Tandon Open University was the Chief Guest and

    Keynote Speaker. About 200 undergraduate students from various

    Colleges and Universities participated in the Seminar.

    ICPR sponsored One Day Seminar entitled “Ethics of Globalization” was

    organized by the Department of Philosophy of the College on December

    18, 2012. Prof. S.P. Dubey, Retd. Prof. & HoD Philosophy Department,

    Rani Durgawati University, Jabalpur was the Chief Guest and Prof. D.N.

    Dwivedi, Retd. Prof. & HoD Philosophy Department, University of

    Allahabad presented Keynote address and Prof. L.R. Singh, Dean, College

    Development, University of Allahabad was Guest of Honour.

Group Coaching Camps: Coaching camps were organised for Basketball (2 months) and for Football (3 weeks) and the department also organised 1 month self-defence classes for the girl students. Annual Sports: Annual Athletic Meet was held from 29th November to 3rd December, 2012. The meet was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mr. Thomas D'Souza, Ex. Vice Principal of the College. The Guests of honour were Mr. Eric Peoples, President, Allahabad District Athletic Association & Mr. Ram Kumar, Secretary, Allahabad District Veterans Athletic Association. Events were conducted for both students and staff of our college who participated with a true sense of sportsmanship. The best athlete (men) was shared between Mr. Munni Lal Patel (B.A. II) & Mr. Girijesh Bahadur Yadav (B.A.I) and the best athlete woman was Miss Fareeza Khanam (B.A. III). The team championship for men went to B.A./B.Sc.I with 62 points and the team championship for the women went to B.A./B.Sc.III with 47 points. The various prizes in different categories were distributed by the Principal, Guests and Staff of our college. The department also organized inter-faculty staff badminton tournament. Many staff members participated in the tournament with true spirit. Dr. Justin Masih (Chemistry) was the winner and Mr. Manish Masih (B.Ed.) was runner-up in singles & Dr. Justin Masih (Chemistry) and Mr. Sameer Khare (CFCS) were winners and Mr. Manish Masih (B.Ed.) & Mr. Shakeel Ahmad (Reg. Office) were the runners-up in the doubles. Extramural Our players participated in various competitions, within as well as outside the district and their performance was commendable. In this academic year the department organized Allahabad University Inter Unit Basketball Tournament in the memory of our Founder Principal Dr. A.H. Ewing.
