    Bivariate

Bivaritate HypothesisThe older the respondents, the less likely they are to like rap music. The younger therespondents are, the more likely they are to like rap music. Of course there areexceptions, because there are some adults that like rap music. There are exceptionsto every rule. According to this graph there are more young respondents that like rapthan there are older respondents.

Bivariate DiscussionAccording to the table, of the respondents only 20% of the respondents in thecategory of 40+ like rap music. In the category of 18-29, 51.6% like rap music and

ofthose respondents in the category of 30-39, 38.1% like rap music. Ashypothesized, there are a high number of those respondents in t he category of 40+that dislike rap music. Approxiamately 73.2% of the respondents in the 40+category dislike rap music and 47% of the respondents in the category of 18-29dislike rap music.

Multvariate HypothesisWith race being the controlling variable, there will be a higher percentage of blacksthat like rap music than whites. However, there might be more of the younger whiterespondents that like rap music than there are of the older white respondents. As itrelates to race there will probably be more older white respondents that dislike rapmusic than there are of blacks that dislike rap music. The younger the respondentsare in each race the more likely they are to like rap music. The older the respondentsare in either race the less likely they are to like rap music.

Multivariate DiscussionIn reference to the two charts above, the younger the respondents the more they

like rap music. In the second mulivariate crosstab 81.6% of the black respondents inthe category of 18-29 year olds like rap music. As for the white respondents in thefirst crosstab 43.9% in the same category like rap music. As it relates to olderrespondents of each race, 76.4% of the white respondents in the 40+ categorydislike rap music. In the same category for the black respondents 55.6% dislike rapmusic.
