Section 3 Trees Location Section 3 requires details of the trees location if different from the address details provided in section 1 (Applicant name and address). Section 4 Trees Ownership Indicate whether or not you are the owner, and if not, provide the owners details (if known). Section 7 Identification of tree(s) and description of works You must provide a full and clear specification of works for each tree. This must indicate the extent of the works. A proposal simply to cut, lop or trim is too vague. Please note in the example how percentage or metre measurements have been used. Further examples of common works are listed in the Tree works application guidance notes. Please continue on a separate sheet if necessary. For works to a TPO tree you must also provide the reasons you wish to carry out the works. A NOTICE WHICH DOES NOT INCLUDE A FULL AND CLEAR SPECIFICATION OF WORKS AND THE REASONS FOR THE WORKS WILL BE RETURNED. Example: T1 Oak

• Crown clean to remove any dead, damaged, weak or crossing branches.

Reason: Deadwood in crown. T2 Lime

• Thin crown by 10% including a crown clean to remove any dead, damaged, weak or crossing branches.

• Lift crown to a height of 5.2m from ground level. Reason: To give clearance over the road and reduce shade T3 Yew

• Head back to suitable secondary branches. Reason: Close to building - to ensure 1m clearance

Section 7 Continued… You must include a sketch map identifying the trees location. If you have space a map may be included in section 7, otherwise please include the map on a separate sheet of paper. See Tree works application guidance notes for further information on what to include. Section 8 Trees Additional Information • Sketch Plan (if not included in section 7) • Condition of tree & Alleged damage to property – evidence from an appropriate expert must be included for a TPO application if you are alleging damage to the property or that the tree is diseased/is likely to brake or fall. • Photos - We strongly recommend that you include photos of the trees you want to work on where possible. This can really help to speed up the application process and occasionally prevent the need for a site visit (example photos shown overleaf). PLEASE NOTE THAT APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED WITHOUT SKETCH PLANS OR THE APPROPRIATE TECHNICAL EVIDENCE WHERE REQUIRED WILL BE RETURNED.
