Staff learnt how to develop rich media learning content.
Narrated presentations and videos were developed by staff and delivered to students via the college’s Wiki.
Students iPods were used both on-site, off-site and in the workplace.

Our learners engaged with the technology instantly, the key factors for the learners were: That the I-pods gave them the opportunity to study at their own pace, and at a time of their choice.
It increased their confidence as it was learner led...
The level 3 learners actually got involved with creating their own pod casts for hairdressing techniques.
These could then be shown to the learners on Level 1 & 2.
The I-pods promoted research, revision, watching video-clips, answering exam questions.

It made the learners sessions more exciting and enjoyable and enabled the learners to access information off site, and at home.
Key findings showed, all the learners that received the I-pods engaged, and were motivated to use them.

Overall retention of the learners was 96%, this was 10% above learners that were not involved with the WILMA project. (Workbased Individualised Learning through MP4 Applicatons).

The College now uses WIKI’s across all areas.
I am now looking into how I-pads can change our delivery across all vocational areas.
