Starbuck Excavation, originally Starbuck & Son Contracting, was created in 2007 by Director, James Starbuck. At the time, he owned a single machine and truck working on site-cuts, small basements & tram track repair works. James went on to hire his very first full-time operator who continues to work for him to this day.
Today, Starbuck Excavation comprises of a fleet of plant and equipment with a skilled and driven team of workers behind it all. Our company prides itself in successfully delivering quality results in all projects ranging from perfectly executed site-cuts to large basement excavation in record time.

We have a proven history of completing some of the most intricate civil projects in Melbourne in record time. With the ability to not only dig, but also cart & dispose material from basements with our sister company; Starbuck Plant Hire, we can guarantee excellence and efficiency on all projects.

Starbuck Excavation services various residential, industrial and commercial projects across Victoria, providing cut and fill earthworks, as well as bulk excavation. Not only do we have a proven history in bulk excavations, but correspondingly detailed excavations including road construction, public amenities, landscaping and plumbing & trenches.

Starbuck Plant Hire was established in 2015 when James discovered an opportunity to run his projects more effectively by managing his own cartage and disposal.Beginning with one owner truck driver, James was not only excavating his own jobs but also moving his own material. Currently Starbuck Plant Hire sends out upwards of 40 tipper trucks per day, servicing our own projects, as well as any of our clients’ developments. Not only do we send out a variety of trucks, but we also send out owner operators with machine sizes ranging from 1.7 to 80 tonne and all sizes in between.
At Starbuck Plant Hire we are committed to continuing to grow our range of equipment to ensure we can offer the best solutions to our customers.
