Caterpillar 4-stroke-cycle 3406 turbocharged and aftercooled diesel Engine with six cylinders, 5.4"/137 mm bore, 6.5"/165 mm stroke and 893 cu. in./14.6 liters displacement. Direct injection Caterpillar fuel system with adjustment-free pumps and non-clogging injection valves. Parallel manifold porting with two intake and two exhaust valves per cylinder. Push-rod-type valve mechanism with two rocker arms per cylinder, one for each pair of intake and exhaust valves. Variable timing fuel system. 24-volt direct electric starting system with ether starting aid standard. (Ether canister not included.)

Grapple Features

High torque, heavy duty rotation system for turning heavy loads. Full 360° continuous rotation in either

direction for fast positioning. Bearing equipped rotary swivel eliminates twisted hoses.

Heavy duty, hardened, internal ring gear and pinion are well protected for long service life.

Two sets of Timken tapered roller bearings in the rotation housing for years of trouble-free service.

All pins are large diameter, hardened and chromed for extra wear life.

Four Hydraulic cylinders supply plenty of closing power. Cylinders feature full 1/2" thick walls, steel pistons and steel screw-in glands.

Piston rods are large diameter and well shrouded for extra protection from external damage.

Armored hydraulic hoses are well protected inside the grapple.

T-1 steel legs with hard surfaced tips for maximum strength, minimum weight.

High strength, low alloy steel construction for maximum strength, minimum weight.
