Exyte Hargreaves operates an Occupational Health and Safety Management System which is third party certified against the requirements of BS OHSAS 18001, the primary aim being to prevent injury and ill-health, whilst demonstrating compliance with all relevant legislation and other requirements relating to safety matters to which we subscribe.
In addition we take a proactive approach in relation to our impact on the environment. We actively practice recycling within both our office, factory and on-site workspaces, operate a cycle to work scheme and invite staff to submit suggestions and comments through our Observation Box initiative

Investing in our People
Succession planning has always been a key part of our Engineering Young Talent Programme which Hargreaves started in 2012.
Part of this programme is introducing engineering to students from Year 5 (Primary) through to Year 11 (school leavers).
We do this by hosting Open Days, providing week long work experience programmes and delivering projects at several local schools which work towards an annual Inter schools Finals event at the Museum of Science & industry in Manchester.
Engineering Youth Talent Programme
At Exyte-Hargreaves we recognise the importance of identifying and developing talented individuals, not just in their current roles but toward future leadership roles.
Now in its second year our Executive Talent Programme (ETP) is a purpose designed programme focussed on our Leadership Behaviours including enhanced self awareness, communication skills, resilience and well-being, leading change and developing coaching and mentoring skills. Key to the success of ETP is the coaching and mentoring support that each delegate receives throughout the programme helping to drive and embed their learning.

Our in-house manufacturing capability enables us to optimise our solutions throughout early engagement and collaborative working with clients and design & delivery teams. We are in a unique position to deliver our strategic intent to support all of our projects utilising offsite manufactured products/components.

Product Design & DevelopmentAn essential component in ensuring that Exyte Hargreaves continue to drive to be industry leaders in design and manufacture of HVAC systems. Having Product Design & Development capabilities has allowed Exyte Hargreaves to develop a wide range of products using a methodical and structured process to deliver key deliverables from concept to delivery.
But research & development within the business is not only limited to New Product Development. It also extends to the manufacturing process, enabling new methods to be developed and tested by means of physical or digital twin allowing minimum disruption to operations with maximum efficiencies.

Value: £9.9 million
Established as a response to the deteriorating sarcophagus hastily built to contain the aftermath of the world‘s worst nuclear accident, Novarka is a collaboration of two global construction giants backed by 27 nations.
Our contribution to the construction of the world‘s largest movable land-based structure, covering the remains of reactor 4, is a complete seismically tolerant HVAC package for the main arch and associated support facilities.
Novarka (Chernobyl) Safe Containment Arch
Value: £20 million
Manufacture and installation of specialist HVAC including transition pieces averaging 4m high, the highest being 6.3m, as well as 25 ventilation systems across 9 shafts. Innovation of fabrication design required to meet the logistical challenges of the shafts and transition pieces in confined environments.
Crossrail is arguably the most ambitious transport infrastructure project the nation’s capital has seen this century.
Exyte Hargreaves were contracted to design, manufacture, deliver and install 25 individual ventilation systems, with 54 transitions, across five separate sites on the Crossrail network, Canary Wharf, Woolwich, Bond Street, Paddington and Stepney Green. Because of the physical restrictions placed on any construction or civil engineering project in the centre of London and coupled with the very tight space constraints of the Crossrail sites themselves,
Exyte Hargreaves completed its contracted work in early 2019. On the back of its work on the Crossrail C610 project, Exyte Hargreaves was awarded Contractor of the Year at the 2018 BESA North West Awards.

Provide the infrastructure for fresh air supply into the building, and acid and solvent extract for the lab. Manufactured and installed a mixture of spiral ductwork and stainless steel ductwork as well as supplying acid extract Teflon-coated ductwork to address the specific needs of the project.
Designed, manufactured and built a flat pack plenum on site for the facility’s third floor plant room to overcome space and access restrictions and complete within 18 months.

The Separation Area Ventilation (SAV) project invol-ved the replacement of legacy ventilation systems, the re-routing of exhaust ductwork and the creation of new filters and a discharge stack.
The project involved the fabrication, installation and commissioning of 2,500 individual components total-ling 3,000m in length.

PR&D Facility - Pharmaceutical Research Facility comprising fume cupboard laboratories and supporting plantroom, office, welfare and meeting room facilities.
Supply and Installation of Koolduct, DW144 type ductwork all shapes and sizes. Small amount of PVC ductwork. Modularisation philosophy adopted throughout the laboratories. Also supplied dampers, attenuators, fabric air socks and grilles and some minor fans.
Astra ZenecaPR & D Facility
Value: £21 million
BEPPS (Box Encapsulation Plant Product Store) and DIF (Direct Import Facility) are key projects for Sellafield, which when complete will facilitate the processing of intermediate level waste for above ground storage.
The project encompasses design, manufacture, installation, management of the supply chain and associated works in relation to ventilation systems over 10,000m2 in size.
