From the Principal
Dear Parents & Carers,
I would like to congratulate all our school leaders who received their badges at this week’s school assembly. These students
show enormous pride in our school and consistently model our school values in all their interactions.
School Captains: Petros Christou and Isabella Joy
Vice Captains: Hasib Khan and Jonathon Summers
Sport Captain: Sean Weiss
Sport Vice Captain: Harry Smith
Art Captain: Recce Schneider
As a school community we are continually working
alongside our students as they participate, share their
ideas and represent our school to the wider school
community.
CLUBS:
Tuesday morning Swim Club continues to be well attended. The new Breakfast Club, run on Tuesday and Friday mornings at
8.30am is gaining popularity with both students and staff. We are very grateful to our wonderful staff who volunteer their
time to supervise these morning programs.
Tech Club is also a favourite with our students, on Thursday afternoons from 3.00 – 4pm, students remain at school and
participate in robotics, 3D printing and coding. Our fabulous Educational Support staff
provide extra supervision and support for this program each Thursday.
Our successful before and after school programs provide a terrific buzz and energy
around the school for both students and staff.

Take Home Readers
To all Y7 and Y8 parents, please look out for a blue reader folder in
your child's schoolbag. Inside the folder you will find a text for
your child to read, a reading journal and some activities to
complete after reading.
As well as being able to read the words in a text, it is important for
children to be able to comprehend and make sense of what they
read. To support this, we would like students to complete one
activity each week from this list and record it in their reading
journal.
Your child’s classroom teacher has discussed this with them, so
they know what the expectations are. The activities compliment
what we are teaching in class. If you have any questions regarding
this, please feel free to speak to your child’s classroom teacher.
Please make sure that your child brings the folder to school every day so we can do some activities in class and change their readers regularly. Sarah Storey Literacy Team Leader

Visits to the Local Galleries
Recently, Years 11 and 12 students attended some public art spaces in their community. They
visited the exhibition, Planet Robobop in the Year 2149, at the Kingston Arts G3 gallery. In the
following week, they participated in a design workshop at the National Gallery of Victoria. They
undertook travel training, learned behavioural expectations and explored how to engage with
the diverse collection of artworks in the spaces. Also, these opportunities provided them with
inspiration and ideas for their portfolio when they returned to their classroom.

3D Printer in Action!
Our 3D printer is now fully installed and has been busy producing student projects. Students
have been using Tinkercad software to design a personalised keyring and some prototypes.
After, they printed their work on the 3D printer. It has been an incredibly exciting process for
our students to glean over and watch their work being built and printed. We look forward to
seeing what our students will design and produce next!
