“We would like to respectfully acknowledge the Bundjalung people who are the Traditional Custodians and First Peoples of the Land on which our school stands.”
COVID-19 Tests now required for return to school.
Dear Parents and Carers
NSW Public Schools continue to be safe learning environments which operate in line with the advice of the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee and NSW Health. All students should be at school unless they have a medical certificate to support their absence. Parents and carers are reminded that students should not attend school if they have flu-like symptoms.
Students or staff who display flu-like symptoms should not be at school. They are now required to show a negative COVID 19 test result and be free of flu-like symptoms before returning to school. Negative test results will be sent to your mobile phone. If you could please email these to [email protected] or text them to 0429829132 prior to your child returning to school. Please ensure the students name and date of test is in the email or text.
We thank you in advance for your support and cooperation in implementing these changes. They are in line with NSW Health Advice and are designed specifically to keep our students, staff and community safe

BE SAFE.
Lost Property
The lost property boxes in the office are filling up
quickly as the days warm up. The boxes will be at the
front gate TOMORROW Afternoon for parents and
students to check. Please have a look and collect any
items of clothing that may belong to your child.
Check In Assessments During this term, Years 3 and 5 will participate in the new reading and numeracy check-in assessments. These assessments will be delivered online and will be used to supplement our existing practices to identify how students are performing in literacy and numeracy.
Feedback will be provided to schools within a week of these assessments. The Year 5 assessment is scheduled for Week 7 (31 August - 4 September) and the Year 3 assessment is scheduled for Week 2 next term (19 October – 23 October). If parents have any questions or concerns about these assessments, please contact Mrs Mack
Message from the P&C What unprecedented times we find ourselves in. I am proud to be a resident of the Far North Coast and to see how well our community is handling the pandemic. I commend our school and it’s staff on the way they have handled this situation so far and I’m sure will continue to handle this pandemic and its ever-changing guidelines. Which brings me to my next dilemma of not being able to hold an onsite P&C Meeting. As the P&C president, I feel the need to reach out to you all to let you know that although we are unable to hold face to face meetings, we are here for all parents/ caregivers to be heard. If you would like to speak to me regarding any suggestions you may any have or any issue please do not hesitate to contact me via the following email: [email protected] Sarah Connor - P&C President
We welcomed Mr Benson back last week, after he
returned from a year of teaching out west at Lake
Cargelligo. It was lovely to look at the school
through a pair of fresh eyes. He could not get over
how well-mannered our students are, how they
apply themselves to their work, play together in the
playground and show kindness and consideration
to each other. Well done Albert Park.
We know you are wonderful but it’s
great to hear it from visiting
Education Week Last week we celebrated the joys of learning in our classrooms and the great outdoors. I hope that you hop onto the website and look at our classrooms and activities through our video clips and photos as well as through seesaw and Facebook. This week is Science Week and the school theme of National Science Week 2020 is Deep Blue: innovations for the future of our oceans and features. Mrs Mack planned some exciting lessons and activities and the students participated in lots of experiments throughout today

It has been such an exciting time in 2-3 Purple this term. We have enjoyed
using whisper phones to listen to our expression when reading and have
completed a variety of exciting literacy activities. We have also used
money to understand decimal place and created a mini book shop in our
classroom to work out 1/2 and 1/4 price discounts. We all had a money
wallet to purchase books with and work out change. The year is going by
quickly but we are enjoying being back in our normal routine and having
fun together.

BE A LEARNER
Students in Gurraman literacy group have been examining the responsibilities of owning and caring for a family pet as well as investigating animal cruelty in a broader context.
On Monday morning students deepened their knowledge by visiting the Animal Rights and Rescue Group (ARRG) in Lismore. Students discovered the ARRG is a non-kill, foster-care group, who rescue and care for animals until they find their forever home. Students participated in hands on learning related to responsible animal care and the effects of pet overpopulation in our community.
Students were given the opportunity to get up-close with animals and learn some basic dog and cat safety, obedience and ways in which they can individually make a difference for refuge animals. Students will be using this knowledge from our excursion to inform their learning by discussing possible solutions to common pet ownership problems within our area, leading them to discover ways we can help.
