selling message

A globalizing economy needs talent with global vision

To be outstanding, your should do something different from what your

peers’s doing (int’l internship vs lcoal internship)

Money investment now pays off in the future.

Taking DT in your 1st 2nd year make it easier for you to

find MT in the future You will be working in a multi-cultural

team(DT). Cross-cultural communication is very important

for career in multi-national companies.

You become more mature, adaptive and independent by living by

yourself in a new cy. Were you HR in company, you would hire someone

mature or someone that looks naivee?

You will become smarter, more creative, more open-minded after this traineeship

because you learn a lot of new things

It is always better to have some different XP abroad, exploring a brand-new world, than doing

what you have been doing in the past decade, learning the same thing, in the same city, same country

Your Roles

Page 9: Exchange training ogx thailand

1.According to your CV, you will be able to match to MT in developing countries

2. You are still not qualified for MT. You should have CV like this (showing a good CV). So I suggest you take a DT first then you can take MT next year.

3. This job role requires XXX skills, so it doesn’t fits you.4. You don’t have any financial background, only marketing

internship. You are not able to find an internship in banks. AIESEC is a global competing platform.

CONSULTANT Giving guidance, advice where to go and what to match.

Global vision is very important for talent in 21st century.

In India, you will not only meet people from India ,but also people from all over the world

.It is truly a global family.

Companies take you more seriously being an international

intern. Because you are foreigner and you are rare there.

You cannot learn much from local internship, imagine you take

the same bus, go to the same office, talk in Chinese, meet up Chinese everyday (ppl from home countries)

You will be working in multinational companiesanyway, you will have a lot of chances

in the future to go to Europe. So when we are young, we should go to exotic countries

like Brazil, Philippines, Indonesia that we wouldn’t have chance to go.

PREACHER Inspiring and bringing new perspectives

It doesn’t matter where you go, but whether you really step out of

your “comfort zone” and go abroad . .

Every country is good country, don’t catogarize country simply

by economic stat. learn to appreciate

Page 11: Exchange training ogx thailand

* We don’t have opport. in U.S. But you can take an internship in India, which is even better. Look at this report (showing returnee ppt, GCP). You can learn a lot a lot from it!

* When you find there are TNs in Malaysia, but your EP is not interested in Malaysia

1. search pictures of Malaysia in google, video in youtube. Contact TN managers for more details.

2. Show your EPs how beautiful malaysia is and the benefits to go there.

SALESMAN Selling what AIESEC can offer.

It is all about how you SALE!

3) Keep track Use an excel sheet to keep track of all the TNs you have applied for and the follow up needed!

4) Be flexible Keep in mind your requirements, but try to be as flexible as possible when matching – especially on the regions and countries

5) Make sure your CV and motivational letter suit the job you are applying for It only takes a few minutes to customize your documents, and it can make a big difference when you are applying!

Page 25: Exchange training ogx thailand

6) Use a sample promotion email It is a good idea to provide ENOUGH information in the emails you send.

7) Know what you want! Before starting the matching process – it is important to know exactly what you want out of your Xperience – set expectations with your VPX

8) Be resourceful If there is an internship you really want and the TN manager is not replying to emails, try to call the LC office or send a text message to the TN Manager. You can find contact information in the networking page of myaiesec.net

9) Understand your role Read carefully the IXQPS and ask your VPX if you have any questions!

Re-Integration

It’s not a separate process !

Ensure your EP have opportunity to live LR

Sinergy with TM and COMM!

Page 27: Exchange training ogx thailand

• Keep in touch:Have a personal Buddy for every EP who stays in touch and communicates regularly with the EP. Check if everything is alright, keep the EP updated about the LC etc. Newsletter:Have a nicely designed Newsletter for all your EPs: What is happening in your LC? What opportunities do you have right now? What are all the other EPs doing?

Have a regular “OGX-Time” on your LCM:Reserve some time in every LCM for news about your outgoers. In which countries are they right now? What are their experiences? Show pictures or short video messages they send you. By this your members get motivated for exchange but also to get in contact with your EPs abroad.

Use Web 2.0 channels:Use Facebook for communication with your EPs abroad. Have a group for all your outgoers where they can share experiences, pictures etc. Promote their Blogs in your LC or if they don’t have a blog on their own give them the opportunity to write in an outgoer-blog hosted by your LC. Give regular updates on Facebook, your Blog etc. on what your outgoers are doing right now.

Have a photo or video competition:By this you are including your outgoers and at the same time get materials for your next promotion.

Have a survey who'd like to take over responsibility after the exchange:Especially in LCs with a lot of outgoers at the same time this might be a good opportunity to quickly get an overview how many returnees will be motivated to work in the LC.

Page 28: Exchange training ogx thailand

RIS:Make sure that every returnee has the opportunity to go to a Reintegration Seminar and promote them actively among your returnees (already before they come back!)Use regional cooperation to make sure your RISes have enough participants and actually take place Welcome back celebration:Have a party for all your returning outgoers. Give your returnees the opportunity toshare their experiences (e.g. have a Global Village) and give them the opportunity to get to know your LC.

Include your returnees in the next recruitment:Your returnees are those who can tell best why exchange rocks – so use this resource! At the same time they take over responsibility in your LC and get to know the way you work.

Have a “AIESEC all over the world” session:If your returnees actively participated in @ in their host country they might have a lot of ideas how to improve your LC. Give them the opportunity to share these thoughts and try to adapt them to your LC reality
