Fab Lab You’ve got what it takes to be a maker, and you can prove it in our very own digital fabrication center, the Wanger Family Fab Lab!
In the Fab Lab, guests have the chance to dream, design and create whatever their imaginations can conceive, from tiny game pieces to full-size furniture, using a variety of cutting-edge personal manufacturing techniques, including computer-assisted design, 3D printing, vinyl cutting, laser cutting, digital routing and milling, soldering and embroidery.
Try your hand at the fabrication process: make a sticker, make a circuit, make a plan and see it come to life. View our Fab Lab calendar to decide which lab is right for your group during your next visit to the Museum.

MSI is proud to be the home of the iconic Apollo 8 spacecraft, the first vessel to carry humans into lunar orbit. We are commemorating the 50th anniversary of this historic mission throughout this fall and winter with special events and activities for all ages. Our final complimentary member-exclusive exhibit tours for the year highlights the Henry Crown Space Center! We’ll learn more about the history of space travel, celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 8 mission and hear the latest news in space exploration.

Film Fest 2019The Film Fest is back and better than ever! We are celebrating with a lineup of films dedicated to one of the most exciting subjects to be found at MSI: transportation! We are showing 5 films throughout February that show the many ways people go from here to there. Join us on the first three Saturdays of the month at 4 p.m. for a member-exclusive movie and snacks. Then, on Saturday, February 23, we will wrap up the fest with two films and a special guest speaker!
