Rhett Butler is the Government Liaison for the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (AGRM). Founded in 1913, AGRM exists to proclaim the passion of Jesus toward the hungry, homeless, abused, and addicted, and to accelerate quality and effectiveness in some 300 member missions. AGRM- affiliated organizations annually provide 43 million meals and 26 million nights of lodging to the desperate and destitute across North America. About 18,000 people graduate from AGRM-member-run addiction recovery programs every year. Before joining AGRM, Rhett spent the past five and a half years leading multiple federal efforts to build effective public-private partnerships that improved outcomes for a wide range of underserved populations. As the former Director of Special Projects at the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives and Director of the Labor Department’s Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, he has extensive knowledge of federal policy formulation, grant- making, regulatory reform, and intergovernmental strategies. He also trained hundreds of nonprofits on best practices gleaned from the Labor Department’s pioneering grant programs and regulatory changes. Prior to working in the Executive Branch, Rhett served in the offices of three U.S. Congressmen and one U.S. Senator. In those offices, he held management and senior advisory positions, which covered a variety of federal legislative and appropriations issues. Rhett has degrees in American and international government from Johns Hopkins University and the Pennsylvania State University. He resides in Church Falls, VA with his wife, Katy, and two sons. 7222 Commerce Center Drive Suite 120 | Colorado Springs, CO 80919 | P 719.266.8300 | F 719.266.8600 EXECUTIVE BIOGRAPHY: RHETT BUTLER Government Liaison for the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions
