We will not be holding a P&C Meeting in the month of November. Our final meeting for this year will be held on 5 December at 5.30pm followed by dinner at 6.30pm. We will advise details of the venue at a later date.
Executive Positions
The P&C executive positions of President, Secretary and Canteen Treas-urer are currently being temporarily filled. The current temporary office bearers will not be taking up these positions at the next AGM so all of the executive positions will become vacant. Our whole school musical.
This year, instead of holding an end of year Christmas concert, the school is producing a whole school musical. The theme is Australiana. It is set in the Gold Rush era and every child will have a part in the show – either a dancing or singing role, or an acting role. We are excited about the show, and we are hoping parents will get involved by helping with costuming, props etc. This will be a wonderful way to showcase the talents of all the students in our school.
ATTENDANCE At this school we value and promote good patterns of attendance. Good attendance provides the maximum opportunity for students to achieve. Unnecessary absences hinder you child’s potential. Days away from school for shopping trips or birthdays are detrimental to your child’s progress. Parents are reminded that it is a requirement that explanations are provided to the school for all absences. Explanations can be made by sending in a note with your child, by speaking to your child’s teacher or by phoning the school on 65687100. If you have any questions about attendance please phone the school .
Congratulations Blayde on receiving
your Quicksmart certificate
PEACE POSTER COMPETITION We would like to congratulate Ellie Argent, 6S, for her winning design in this year’s Lions Club Peace Poster Competition for our school. The competition was open to all Stage 3 students. The theme for this year’s competition was “Imagine Peace”. Students were restricted to design only, no wording was to be seen in the design. Ellie’s winning entry now moves into the next round of the competition. Congratulations Ellie.
SISTER SPEAK
Each week, Aunty Shar Smith comes into our school for ‘Sister Speak’ with Year 5 and 6 girls. In this program Aunty Shar mentors the girls and teaches them traditional dance, songs and dreamtime stories. This wonderful program will run until the end of term. YEAR 3 BUS PASSES - 2013 If your child has a bus pass and will be in Year 3 in 2013, you should have received a new bus application from the bus company. Your child will not be able to use their old bus pass in 2013. Busways process and post out new passes during the Christmas holidays ready for the start of the school year. As the applications need to be authorised by our school, please return the new application to us as soon as possible. YEAR 7 BUS PASSES - 2013 If your child has a bus pass and will be in Year 7 in 2013, a new bus application is required by the bus company. You can return the new application to the High School for authorisation or we can pass it on for you.
