HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
The Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management
programme is being offered by the School of Human Resource
Management, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad. The Masters
programme in Human Resource Management of the Institutes in Mumbai
and Hyderabad are the most sought after in the country.
The curriculum developed for human resources has been awarded and
recognized among the best in the country.
The graduates of TISS HRM programme occupy positions of leadership
across a wide spectrum of industries including IT/ITeS, Banking and
Finance, Manufacturing, Retail and Management Consultancy.
The Executive Programme is designed to develop professionally competent
and socially sensitive management graduates, fully equipped to take on the
challenges of the business world.

CURRICULUM DESIGN
Distribution of Credit Hours
The Executive Postgraduate Diploma Programme will have 20 courses
carrying a total of 42 credits as detailed below:
16 courses carrying 2 credit each : 32 credits
4 courses carrying 1 credit each : 4 credits
Field work (5 weeks): 6 credits
1 credit: 15 hours
The course follows a modular scheme. The entire curriculum will be
covered in eight modules. (details at the end of the brochure)
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Minumum Bachelor’s Degree (under 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year
bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the
mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education), in any discipline
of a recognised University.
50% marks for General Category candidates, 40% for Scheduled Castes
[SCs], Scheduled Tribes [STs] and 45 % for OBC(NC) candidates
AND
Having at least 3 years of work experience after graduation in managerial
or supervisory category, preferably in personnel/administration
department
Age under 40 years as on July 1, 2016. In special cases, this limit may be
relaxed.
Intake: 30 Seats
Note: Candidates are requested to read the eligibility criteria
carefully before applying. Ineligible candidates will be rejected at
any stage in the application process.

PROGRAMME COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS
Grading Scheme An eleven point grading scheme from 0-10 is used for grading all assessment units.A student must receive a minimum grade of C+ equivalent to 4 points, to be considered pass Programme Completion /Credit Requirements Fulfillment The programme requirements include credited and non-credited
activities. The cumulative grade point average (CGPA) is completed as the
credit-weighted average over all courses undertaken over all modules, of all credit accumulated until that assessment period.
A student must satisfactorily complete all compulsory requirements and accumulate all requisite credits of a particular programme in order to become eligible for the diploma.
Each course will be assessed through a variety of assessment unit types with
prescribed weightages, which is provided at the commencement of each
course. These may involve individual or group work:
Assignments: which are held in the course, conducted as individual or
group assessments.
Class presentation: individual or group, which are held as a part of
different subjects.
Reflective Journals.
Faculty assessment of class participation
Written tests (open book, closed book, take home) conducted during
or at the end of the course.
Viva/ oral test or examination.
Observation by faculty/ supervisor.
Non-credited compulsory requirement of the programmes require
testimony of participation from the course teacher. It may include
evaluative components, which will be mentioned in testimonials. No
course has only one type of evaluation unit. Each course has at least
an assignment and end module examination.

Every student is expected to maintain regularity and 100% attendance for all course requirements: Classroom/theory courses, field practicum, field trips, etc.
The schedule of the programme is designed in such a way that each course is spread across several weeks so that no student losses maximum attendance in a certain week if he/she could not attend because of an emergency.
A minimum of 75% attendance is required for all taught courses.
Absences for medical or other exigent reasons have to be taken with permission
through a leave application submitted to the Programme Coordinator.
Award of Postgraduate Diploma The students, who have successfully completed their programme of study will be admitted to the Certificate/Diploma Conferment function of the Short Term Programmes.

The EPGDHRM programme comprises a predefined set of courses, which are assigned specific credit value or may be non-credited but compulsory. Note: 1. Total fees payable is Rs.300,000/-. 2. Fees once paid will not be refunded. 3. The fees and deposits should be deposited in any Branch of SBI in India on or before
the due date of the Installments mentioned below and an official receipt to be obtained.
4. First installment to be paid at the time of admission; and the remaning three installments as and when notified by the institute.

RESERVATIONS
As per GOI requirements, 15% and 7.5% & 27% seats are reserved for SC, ST and
OBC(NC) candidates, respectively.
Three per cent seats are reserved for Persons with Disability (PWD) of which 1% each is
reserved for(a) Low Vision/ Blindness (b) Hearing Impairment, and (c) Locomotor
Disability/ Cerebral Palsy. Please note that reservations are applicable only for allocation
of seats and no fee waiver is applicable, since only candidates who are in employment are
eligible for this programme.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
1. Candidates interested in the programme are encouraged to apply online -
http://stp-admissions.tiss.edu. The application fee has to be paid following the
steps indicated on the site. The application fees in 1030 if paying through credit
card/ debit card/ net banking or Rs. 1000 if paying using the SBI bank challan
2. Last date for submission of application by is July 15, 2016 by 6pm.
WRITTEN TEST & PERSONAL INTERVIEW
Eligible candidates will be called for the Written Test and Personal Interview. Individual
emails will be sent and phone calls to be made by the Admissions team. The Written Test
and the Personal Interviews will be held on 22 & 23 of July, 2016 at TISS Hyderabad
campus.
The list of selected candidates will be notified on the Institute Notice Board and the
Institute Websites www.tiss.edu and www.campus.tiss.edu by 27th of July, 2016.

ABOUT TATA INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
TISS a premier social sciences Institute in India which was established by the reputed TATAs in
1936. TISS is a centrally funded public university supported by the University Grants
Commission (UGC), Government of India (GoI) since 1964. TISS has an A grade with 3.89 on 4,
