2. The project uses the progressive-mindedshape of a monument for its inspiration, completely ignoring the existingstereotypes that apartment structures aremost operationally effective if they arerectangular or square in form. Thisbuilding will carry this same open-mindedness towards shape and formthroughout each unit, providing a uniquespatial living space for every resident. Theinside of the building will have asophisticated hotel/apartmentatmosphere in which room service andother amenities normally reserved forlarger hotels are offered for theconvenience of the inhabitants. The inception of the building began withidentifying and creating individual cubeunits that broke down the residents alonglines of gender, age, ethnicity andbackground. The separate units werethen arbitrarily sorted and amalgamatedtogether to create and form themonumental shape of the structure. Theplacement of the units was also governedby wind direction and sun orientation tomake the most of the natural elements ofthis sites environment. The unitssurround a large central communal spacethat can be employed as a gallery or anexhibition area. This building will attract open-mindedresidents who wish to experience a livingstructure that reflects their own uniquetalents in its extreme and innovativestructure. 3.
