Existing Fonts Within

Pop ( Dance Pop) Genre

When typing dance pop into google this is what I found, it shows a range of fonts and styles. There is a mix of big bold fonts that really stand out from the page that take up a lot of room making the title of the album the main focus of the cover, these types of covers usually are not accompanied by an image but by a simple background or pattern. Colours in which are quite popular are purples and pinks for the fonts and the images.

When researching different artists and albums within the dance pop genre it came up with a mixture of different fonts and styles, I have found that the style and font tends to represent the theme of the style of the artist, for example Avicii is quite reckless and fun, this is shown within the font of his album as it is almost like graffiti, very big and rough like its being painted on the front of the album. Avicii is known for his graffiti especially in his video "The Nights". This represents him as an artist, however artists such as Beyonce who have a more elegant and femanine font usually have a softer voice and it tends to appeal more to a female audience. The font is much thinner however it still has that dramatic effect that you would expect to find in the dance pop genre. This is also shown in artists like Shakira, Agnes, Little Boots and J' Lo.

Common colours in which you find fonts on these albums are white and black, depending on the artist or the album, they also used coloured fonts, pinks and purples being popular choices.
