2017
Rake / Gable
▪ When joining pieces of XDRake/Gable Channel, the stonecoated metal will need to be cutto allow the pieces to interlock
▪ Measure up from the bottom 1-1/2” and cut straight in. Turn theXD Rake/Gable Channel on itsside, measure down ½” and cutat an angle to the 1-1/2’ line. Thetop piece should lay on top of thelower piece
▪ Join the rake together by slidinguntil there is no gap
▪ Screws should be spaced every 6”
2017
Valley
▪ The XD Valley must bepositioned along the centerline of each valley area
▪ The XD Valley Cap (stonecoated) can be installed bysnapping or sliding into placeafter the valley pieces havebeen installed. Fasten Cap toValley as needed
2017
Valley
▪ Place the valley so that 1” runs past the edge of the eave
▪ Continue to install the valley metal overlapping the pieces aminimum of 6”
▪ Fasteners should be positioned outside the last turn-up on eachside
▪ Finish with XD Valley Cap. Cap may be notched and bent down, ifdesired
2017
Starter / Eave
▪ Notch and overlap Starterpieces 1” when joining twopieces together
▪ Fasteners should be spaced6” on center
▪ Do not screw throughoverlap
2017
Roof-to-Side Wall
▪ Starting at the Eave, extendthe XD Channel 1” over thedrip edge portion of theStarter Clip
▪ Work the XD Channel behindstucco or wood sidingwhenever possible or surfacemount to the wall for surfaceslike brick and seal with wallflashing. Stone coated counterflashing, Side Flashing, canalso be used
▪ Overlap the XD Channel atleast 4” working up the roof.Screws should be spacedevery 12”
2017
Panel Installation
▪ DECRA XD Panels install left to right. Thefirst course of panels locks into theStarter Clip w/ Drip Edge. Subsequentcourses of panels simply lock into placeby sliding the nose of each panel onto theclip that is formed at the top edge of eachpanel
▪ The right side of each panel must bepushed into position to engage the Side-Lap locking mechanism
DECRA XD panels install from LEFT to RIGHT
Do not create a pattern. Randomly install panels so they do not create a pattern with the course below
2017
Field Panels
▪ The top clip on right side of the left Shingle XD panel may haveto be bent open in order to allow the next panel to be insertedand overlapped correctly
▪ There should not be a gap between the back clips on theShingle XD Panels. Note, do not install the last screw on thefar right until the next panel has been properly lapped and atleast one screw attached
Incorrect
Shingle XD Correct

Field Panels▪ Shake XD panels overlap 2-1/2”. Ensure that top left corner of installing panel is
butted up tight into upper clip of installed panel. Do not install the last screw onthe far right until the next panel has been properly lapped and at least one screwattached.
▪ Installing panel inserts into expanded clip joint of installed panel. Align installingpanel to the edge lap stop notch.
▪ The expanded clip joint (installed panel) is over-sized to properlyreceive the installing panel.
▪ Installing panel clip is inserted tight within the expanded clip jointof the installed panel.
▪ The installing panel nose is aligned at the edge lap stop notch.
2017
Fastener Placement
Install these 4 screws first Install this 5th
screw after the next panel is inserted to the right and at least one
