The Experion Parameter Reference is a reference guide that provides detailed information about the relations between software identifiers in Safety Manager and Control Builder of Experion.
A reference guide is a Safety Manager related guide and does not describe tasks in terms of how to perform the task and/or steps to follow. A reference guide can provide input to support decisions required to achieve a certain objective.

Intended audience
The guide is for Experion application engineers who have to build control strategies and/or operate Control Builder. Use this guide when detailed information about (function block) parameters relating to Safety Manager is required.
How to use this guide
This guide provides information about (function block) parameters in Control Builder and what their relation is with software identifiers in Safety Manager. Chapters 1 and 2 are of a general nature. Chapters 3 thru 6 provide information about specified parts of the Safety Manager system. Chapter 7 provides details about relevant Standard Display file names.
The information is organized as described below:

Specific system related formats are used for this purpose; these are called ‘parameter attributes’. A list of attributes is included in Table 1 Parameter Attribute Definitions; this list also has short descriptions for each parameter attribute that is used for Safety Manager.

Abstract
This guide provides information about the user-visible parameters in Control Builder of Experion and their relations to software identifiers in Safety Manager.
Use this guide as you build control strategies and during operation, when detailed information about (function block) parameters is required.
Parameter Definition Format
In this guide, the parameter definitions are grouped per specified part of the Safety Manager system. For all parameter definitions in this guide the Residence is Safety Manager.
The information is presented in table format. These tables are included:
• Table 1 Parameter Attribute Definitions; this table provides short descriptions for each parameter attribute that is used for Safety Manager.
Attribute Description
Attributes used in 2.1 Types
Block Type Defines the name of the block type
Definition A short description of the block type.
Block / Basic Block Defines whether the block is a Tagged block or a Basic block.
Remarks Includes additional information that is important to the understanding, use, and operation of the parameter.
Attributes used in paragraph 2.2 Enumerations
EnumSet Name Defines the name of the enumeration set.
ENUM ID Defines the ID of the enumeration set.
Enum Name Defines the name of an element in the enumeration set.
Ordinal Defines the value of an element in the enumeration set.
Remarks Includes additional information that is important to the understanding, use, and operation of the parameter.

Parameter Name Defines the name of the parameter.
Parameter Description A short description of the block type.

Load Dest Determines whether the parameter value is stored in the Controller, SR or server (SCAN).
Data Type Defines how the parameter data is viewed by the system.
Remarks Includes additional information that is important to the understanding, use, and operation of the parameter.
