These five buses will be operated by Veolia Transport in regular time table services. By conducting intensive research in an opera- tional environment we are able to prove our claims in a non-laboratory situation. Partners in the Whisper project are Veolia Transport, Eneco, Province of Gelderland, City Council of Apeldoorn, Techno Service Netherlands, HAN Centre of Expertise in Automotive and SenterNovem. The proj- ect evaluation is conducted externally by CE Delft in order to obtain objective information. Target 2010: Prove our claims in city bus applications by external auditing Project: HyTruck Due to the high efficiency of the e-Traction® driveline, application of renewable fuels is being enabled. By adapting an electric Direct-Drive TheWheel TM SM500 motor for a light conventional truck– for inner city logistic services – the range problems of fuel-cell powered trucks are elimi- nated. In participating in the HyTruck program, e-Traction® hopes to prove the claim that we are not only starting a revolution ourselves; we enable revolution in many ways. While the first HyTruck has already made thousands of miles, a request for subsidies has been delivered at the Dutch Subsidy institute in order to start a project in which we participate in the design, building, financing and maintaining of a series of fuel-cell powered trucks. Target: Build a first series of fuel-cell powered trucks. Project: Small automotive applications & Direct-Drive There is a world to be conquered in improving fuel efficiency of passenger cars. With an amount of over seven million passenger cars in the Netherlands alone, the potential market for direct drive systems is the largest in its existence. e-Traction® and its partners are in a far stage of developing a deployment plan of its SM450 product in a first small series of passenger cars. e-Traction® is co¬operating with a broad range of third parties specializing in the automotive industry in order to acquire and obtain all capacities to fulfill its targets. Target: Build a first series of SM450 powered passenger cars. Project: Miscellaneous Industrial applications e-Traction® is always focusing on other possible applications of its TheWheel™ technology. There are still many markets that are waiting to be renewed with innovative traction solutions. In the nearby future we are to expand our horizons, deployment of application in rail industries, in ma¬rine industries and ofcourse special industries. In 2011, we continue to focus our attention and never forget where we came from. TheWheel™ SM450 Series In-wheel direct drive motor package with integrated power electronics & fluid cooling for automotive applications – small city cars with average vehicle weight up to 1200kg. Wheel diameter: 450mm Peak Torque: 400Nm TheWheel™ SM500 Series In-wheel direct drive motor package with integrated power electronics & fluid cooling. This type of direct-drive can be modified easily in length – varying its torque from 2500Nm for SUV application to 8700Nm for city bus application and industrial settings. Wheel diameter: 500mm Peak Torque: 2500Nm / 5750Nm / 8700Nm (at varying lengths) TheWheel™ SM700 Series The most powerful direct drive motor package in the e-Traction® program with integrated power electronics & fluid cooling. This motor is built-to-order for all heavy industrial applications. Wheel diameter: 700 mm Peak torque 15000Nm. TheWheel™ SM350 series TheWheel™ SM350 series is a non-in wheel motor – designed to achieve gearless Direct- Drive. As this motor has a permissible max. RPM of 2000, it is also suitable for industrial application (Application example: Diesel generator setting). Wheel diameter: n/a Peak torque: 15000Nm. TheWheel™ in-wheel direct-drives are very powerful electric motors, placed where the torque is actually needed- at the tyres of the vehicle. The high torque of the electric motor enables direct-drive, without the need for any gearing or transmission. And because the motor is placed where the torque is needed, vehicle space is saved while rotary parts of the traction system are reduced by 80%. The energy consumption of a TheWheel™ propelled vehicle is therefore always lower than comparable traction systems. In basic a very efficient electric motor, TheWheel™ operates with all types of energy source. Compared to normal electric traction vehicles, less battery capacity is needed; smaller Hydrogen Stacks can be applied and - in case of ordinary diesel generator application - a smaller diesel engine with lower fuel consumption can be fitted. A vehicle with TheWheel™ is therefore not only simpler and more efficient - it is also an economically attractive option. The tire rims of the vehicle are always placed directly on the in-wheel motor. In the unlikely event of system failure, a complete motor is easily replaced. Meanwhile the vehicle can drive to service on just one wheel. This true redundan- cy, combined with energy savings and a very simple design, makes TheWheel™ a true revolution in motion. TheWheel™ has been patented internationally (Patent Nr. WO 01/54939). e-Traction® has developed direct-drive systems for all types of application – ranging from small city cars, to industrial heavy-load applications. These types of direct-drives are easily adapted to your application; more payload is realized by changing materials, more torque is generated by adding motor length.     By Car

    On the A50 between Zwolle and Arnhem take exit 25 (Apeldoorn Noord). Head south.

    At the second crossing, near the prominent high rise office tower, turn left (onto Laan

    v.d. Dierenriem). Take the first left. Follow the road and take the first right (onto the

    Watermanstraat). Continue for roughly 100 meters (first left is Vissenstraat) and you

    will have reached your destination.

    By Public Transport

    Travel by Train to Apeldoorn Central Station (Do not take the train to Apeldoorn

    De Maten or Apeldoorn Osseveld). At Apeldoorn Central Station take either

    bus 95s towards Zwolle or bus 294 towards Zwolle. The bus stop closest to

    e-Traction Europe is stop ‘Laan van de Dierenriem’. From here on it’s a

    five minute walk to our office.
