CEAG The Early Days
In 1912 the Home Office, anxious to discover a Lamp
which would conform to all safety and performance
requirements, inaugurated an International
Competition offering prizes to the value of £1000 for
the best lamps submitted, the first prize being £600.
200 lamps of various designs and manufacture were
submitted. The "CEAG" Electric Lamp was declared
the winner and described at the time as the “safest
mining lamp in the world”. By 1919, over 500,000
CEAG lamps were supplied to 300 installations.
Although the origins of the company are steeped in
mining, the continuous development of new,
innovative products saw the business diversify into
further industry sectors. This included military, marine,
railways and aerospace. During the 1940s, the
automotive sector became one of CEAG's biggest
sales areas and “Lumax” became a trusted global
brand that would dominate this particular sector for
many years.
CEAG Today
In 2006, the business moved to brand new premises and continued to
service its existing clients, whilst developing and growing further into
global markets. The company has established itself as a trusted
supplier to many national and international companies. CEAG exports
products around the world to over thirty countries. Our customers
range from small, medium sized companies and public sector
organisations, to large businesses, huge corporations and globally
recognised brands. CEAG offers a comprehensive range of automotive,
commercial, industrial, marine, explosion proof and hazardous area
lighting, electrical equipment and related products. CEAG continually
works to improve the performance of its product range to ensure that it
is second to none.
Explosion Proof Hazardous Area Lighting
CEAG explosion-proof lighting products provide high quality, innovative and creative solutions for specific lighting problems and complete solutions for operational areas, both on and off-shore.
For over a century CEAG has been an industry leader providing industrial lighting solutions for a variety of harsh environmental conditions, where hazardous area and explosion proof protected zone1 and zone2 light fittings are required.
CEAG constantly evaluates industrial lighting solutions, technology and researches the market looking for new and innovative solutions.est.

The robust junction boxes made of plastic and light alloy are featured by their simple mounting and installation capability. They are fitted with pillar terminals for cable of up to 6 mm². The practical orientated housing form allows for problem-free access to the connection terminals for installation.
Easy to install
With the CEAG mounting system, the plastic junction boxes can be mounted on walls, trellis and pipes.
Metal glands available
For cable with armouring, there are junction boxes available with internal metal clamps or light alloy versions allowing for screw joints. To enable a high chemical resistance of the light alloy junction boxes, these have been given an impact resistant plastic powder coating. The cover screws and all other external metal parts are made of stainless steel (AISI 316L).
