Instructions on how to connect your mobile phone via Bluetooth using the pairing feature

of the Mercedes-Benz hands-free system.

(All examples shown are using the COMAND system)

For a connection between your mobile phone and your Mercedes-Benz hands-free

system to be successful Bluetooth must be turned on in your mobile phone. Please make

sure to also read the operating and pairing instructions of the mobile phone.

Please follow the steps below to connect your mobile phone Motorola ME860 with the

mobile phone application of your Mercedes-Benz hands-free system using Bluetooth.

Step 1

To get to the telephone screen of your Mercedes-Benz hands-free system press the “TEL”

key.

Step 2

Select "Telephone" located in the lower left corner.

Step 3

Select "Bluetooth telephones".

Select “Options”

Step 5

Select "External authorisation".

Step 6

The display of your Mercedes-Benz hands-free system will show "Ready for external

authorization." Now the system is ready for a new Bluetooth connection.

Step 7 (to be performed on your Motorola ME860)

From the main screen of your mobile phone,

1. Push the "Menu" button and select "Settings"

2. Select the option "Wireless & networks"

3. Select the option "Bluetooth settings"

4. Select the option "Bluetooth", to turn on Bluetooth.

5. Select “Scan for devices”

6. Select “MB Bluetooth”

Step 8

Confirm the authorization of Motorola ME860 by selecting "Yes". The name of your mobile

phone will be displayed on where “ME860” is displayed.

Step 9

Pass code is required to input.

Step 10

Input any pass code (e.g.0000), and then select “ok”.

Step 11 (to be performed on your Motorola ME860)

Input the same pass code (e.g.0000), and then select “Yes”.

If there are any additional pop-ups on your phone, select ok to enable these features.

Step 12

Wait for authorization to finish.

Step 13

If the authorization was successful a Pop-Up appears on your Mercedes-Benz hands-free

system.

Step 14

After your mobile phone is successfully connected via Bluetooth to your Mercedes-Benz

hands-free system the name of your mobile phone (ME860) will be displayed on the top

middle of screen.
