Extracts from FGW “Building A Greater West” franchise booklet relevant to Wiltshire services presented 24 June 2015 1. Core franchise period 0200 Sunday 20 September 2015 to 0159 Monday 1 April 2019. DfT may at it’s discretion extend by a further year. FGW will pay £68m to operate the franchise. 2. By May 2017 there will be a reduction in Bedwyn/Kintbury/Hungerford through services. Newbury-Paddington EMU. 1706 Paddington-Bristol via Newbury replaced by Paddington-Newbury EMU and connecting DMU from Newbury-Bedwyn and Newbury-Frome. From Dec 2018 Pewsey, Westbury, Castle Cary and Taunton 1tp2h from London

9. TransWilts Route: From May 2017 single car trains will be replaced by two car Class158 with air conditioning and Wi-Fi. From December 2018 Class 158s replaced with Class 165s with air conditioning and Wi-Fi.

10. Westbury-Weymouth Heart of Wessex Route: Cascaded 90mph Turbo trains. From May 2017 Turbo trains cascaded from Thames Valley (TV receiving 6 Class 387 from Govia by March 2016 and 29 by March 2017 plus 8 additional new units starting delivery January 2017.)

11. Cardiff-Portsmouth-Brighton Routes: Capacity transformed by Turbo cascade, predominantly 5 car configurations. December 2018 services between Brighton and Bristol Parkway with 3 car Turbo train sets.
