Sales, Estimating and Proposals:Generating business.At the start of the business process, sales staff and estimators identify opportunities, measure the time, money and materials needed for new construction and engineering projects. You will build contacts and put together bid proposals and presentations staying within the profit margins and offering value engineering to clients.
Procurement:Bringing in the goods.Every business needs its resources. This is the responsibility of the procurement department who work daily with engineering. You will manage the purchasing of items and services needed for the buisness, negotiating the best rate for the company, coming up with logistical solutions for delivery of items across different locations.
Design & Engineering:Provide the solution.An ever-evolving career path, these individuals calculate and analyse data, researching and developing new ideas and improving performance and efficiencies of existing products. You will need an understanding of safety, reliability, aesthetics, efficiencies, life span and costs of systems.

Manufacturing:Creating the product.Manufacturing is a great career for those who love to work with their hands and enjoy seeing their hard work have a physical result. You will be trained how to weld and use machinery required for the job, but you‘ll also need to understand the work flows and timescales needed to produce items.
Business Systems, Analytics and IT:Technology systems.Every business needs an IT department. Your roles can vary from day to day technical support keeping people connected, to the implementation of software to improve functionality of data management and processes. Your IT skills will make everyone‘s life easier.
The Digital Workplace:Creating the blueprint.Computer Aided Design is key to every company the designs and makes things. You will need engineering and technical awareness, great IT skills and a passion for learning about the latest technologies.
Electronic delivery of documentation, proposals, reports, design information, virtual representations and financial data are cornerstones of modern engineering. You will learn all about the digital workplace and how it benefits your work life.

Project Management:Take the lead.Project managers are leaders who are great at seeing the ‘bigger picture’ of every project. You will get to know the clients’ requirements and work with their team to provide the best solutions. This job involves managing people and timescales so great communication and empathy is key.
Commercial/Quantity Surveying:Maximising profits.This is a really important job which ensures that companies work with their client to ensure contract terms and payments are kept to. You will learn good commercial awareness, negotiation techniques and contracting law. Communication and dispute resolution skills as well as strong maths are ideal.
Information Management:Keeping it organised.At the backbone of every company is good data management. Admin support is not just about filing. It can lead to document control roles that oversee new process and data management systems which in turn, improve the efficiency of the business and have a positive commercial impact.
Marketing:Ensuring success.Marketing‘s role is to grow the brand, support the business and increase efficiency for the client. Responsibilities include ensuring great internal and external communication including event coordination, public relations and internal newsletters. You‘ll need good analytical, creative and communication skills for this job.

Environment, Health & Safety:Keeping people safe.This is a varied role which can involve risk assessment and following procedures at all times in order to prevent accidents. You‘ll implement new procedures, learn about Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) law to reduce adverse impact, whilst developing trends and improving performance, whilst providing guidance to others about their safety.
Human Resources:Supporting employees.Your job will involve lots of face to face interaction, providing a support network for staff within a company and managing conflicts and issues at all levels. You‘ll need to provide guidance and advice, whilst supporting recruitment and resourcing processes. You will also help implement and manage training and CPD opportunities.
Installation:Putting it all together.If you enjoy site life, varied working environments and working with your hands as part of a team this is the job for you. You‘ll need to understand technical briefs as well as sticking to strict Environmental, Health & Safety regulations, whilst having an eye for good quality, to ensure your work is always the best. You will also be installing and testing the finished products.
Finance:Bringing in the money.The accounts department manages all of the finance and cash-flow in the business. This means working with all department, so good organisational and numerical skills are very important. You‘ll learn tax and contracting law as part of your role, alongside gaining formal qualifications in accountancy.
