EY HOCKEY LEAGUE – ROUND 2
LISNAGARVEY HC v MONKSTOWN HC 3rd October 2015
!!Lisnagarvey are preparing a very special day for their first home game in the inaugural EY Hockey League on Saturday. Having begun their campaign last week end with an impressive 3-2 win over Pembroke in Dublin, they now welcome current IHL champions Monkstown to Comber Road. The visitors also got off to a winning start last weekend, coming from behind against Railway Union to win 2-1 with Gareth Watkins supplying the vital goals in the last quarter. Garvey will still be without the strong influence of captain Jonny Bell through a prolonged injury but on the plus side they are more than pleased with their new-boys, Paul Gleghorne and Neal Glassey who both made a significant contribution to the result at Pembroke. Indeed, Glassey scored Garvey’s third and decisive goal in a very close game. A match of high quality is expected today with so many talented players on view with probably a single goal separating the teams after the 60 minutes. Again, penalty corner conversions could prove to be the difference between the two sides. Michael Bowden Match Secretary
