Data overview
Introduction and Disclosure
This year’s EY Switzerland Annual and Sustainability Report explores how we as a firm live up to our purpose of building a better working world against the backdrop of an increasingly uncertain and complex environment. The full report shows how vital it is to join forces and interact with other people inside and outside EY, which opens our minds to new and different ideas and enables us to devise innovative solutions. Some of these solutions can disrupt the market and fundamentally change the way the world works, as evidenced by the way digital technologies are radically changing how we communicate, work and do business. Moreover, the world of work is becoming more and more complex and networked, calling for more creativity and flexibility. This becomes apparent by reading the whole report or scrolling through the dedicated website that puts some of the key data in this data overview into context. The full data overview is an integral part of the fifth EY Switzerland Annual and Sustainability Report. Our report was established in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines and covers the period from 1 July 2015 until 30 June 2016. For the third time, our report is in accordance with the G4 Guidelines Core option. The report covers the legal entities Ernst & Young Ltd, Switzerland, with 10 locations in Switzerland, and Ernst & Young AG, Liechtenstein, with one location in Liechtenstein. A detailed description of how we defined materiality, set boundaries, engaged with our stakeholders and measured our carbon footprint is available in the full report on pages 36 and 37. In addition, the report features tables (page 38) that indicate where in the report or in this data overview information relating to the GRI’s G4 Guidelines can be found.
This document is available on www.ey.com/ch/dataoverview. Our dedicated website in three languages is accessible on www.ey.com/ch/annualreport, where you can also download the full report, watch videos and listen to podcasts of the interviews with innovative thinkers from inside and outside EY.

Coverage of pension plan obligations
EY operates its own pension fund. According to Swiss law, it is a defined contribution plan. It covers 100% of our employees, who are all also covered by the oldage and survivors’ insurance/invalidity insurance (AHV/AVS). The pension fund is fully covered. By estimate as of 5 August 2016, based on the financial statements as of the end of 2015, the extent to which the plan liabilities are estimated to be covered by assets set aside to meet them is CHF 846,000,000.
