Eyes, Eyes, Eyes, Eyes, What do you See?What do you See?
A Story About the Colors We See
Rainbows are sunlight spread out into many colors by water
droplets.
Rainbows look like a multi-colored arch, with red on the outside and violet on the inside. A rainbow actually has a large variety of colors. We generally talk about seven colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.
Sometimes, a secondary rainbow is seen. It is a second, fainter arch outside the primary arch. The colors are in the opposite order: violet on the outside and red on the inside.
A prism works the same way as a water drop. Light hits the prism, and the light is split into colors.
