Parents at our school understand this. It’s why you brought your children to be baptized at a young age, it’s the main reason you have your children enrolled here at St. Paul’s, and it’s the reason you still make spiritual training and growth a priority in your family’s schedule. Your teachers understand this and want to support you parents in your all-important role. In our Christ Light stories next week, we see a positive example of this principle. Hannah and her husband receive the blessing of a son after much heartfelt prayer, and in thanks, she gives him up to full-time training at God’s tabernacle. CAREER DAY We had a wonderful time at our career day and learned a lot about some fascinating occupations. Thanks to all of our presenters for giving of their time and making our day a success.  ChRIST LIGHT CONNECTION Do you recognize this Bible passage? “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Or maybe this sounds more familiar? “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6, NIV / NKJV translations) Whichever way we translate it, the meaning is clear: Christian adults--especially parents--have a great responsibility to give the children in our lives a good start in God’s Word and their faith, to provide in-depth spiritual training for Jesus’ littlest lambs. MAKE UP DAY - APRIL 24TH Due to state requirements regarding hours of instruction, St. Paul’s will be having a make-up day on Wednesday, April 24th. This had been scheduled as the last day of our Easter Break. St. Paul’s “budgeted” four snow days into its schedule this year. Having exceeded that, we are now required to make up a day. Please keep in mind that additional snow days will result in additional make up days.

DIVINE CALL - MISS KRUG St. Paul’s Lutheran School extended a call to Miss Cassandra Krug this past Sunday to serve as our Kindergarten teacher. Miss Krug is currently teaching at Lord of Life Lutheran School in Friendswood, TX. We are thankful that Miss Krug would consider serving with us at St. Paul’s. Please keep her in your prayers as she begins her deliberations. Feel free to reach out to her with words of encouragement as you are able. [email protected]

2019-2020 scHOOL CALENDAR The Board of Christian Education has approved an academic calendar for 2019-2020. Please see the link below for planning purposes. It is possible the calendar will change slightly before now and next year. Over the summer there are meetings with the Howards Grove School District and bus company that sometimes result in minor changes. However, this still allows for a general look at next year. Please notice the date in the bottom corner of the calendar and keep the most updated version if/when new publications are released. 2019-2020 School Calendar

MARRIAGE BIBLE CLASSES You are invited to join us tonight for the last study in our series on parenting. We will meet in the school commons at 6:30pm. Babysitting will be provided.

SILENT SATURDAY ONLY 4 DAYS UNTIL ST. PAUL'S SILENT SATURDAY! Please join us for a fun day for all ages! Kids, this is silly, but did you know that if you find one of Pastor Mueller's wallet-size pictures hiding around the auction, you can turn it in at the concession stand for a free treat of your choice?! So once the carnival is done, head to the gym to start looking! Cake Walk tickets are still available! At least 22 bakers are bringing donations - so LOTS of delicious choices! Carnival is open from 3:30 - 5:00. Parents, this is a great time for you to start looking and bidding in the gym without your little helpers! Entertainment is during the dinner hour - so sit down and enjoy the great meal while listening to "The Four Dads." Concessions are open all day - popcorn, cookies, bars, soda and water. And, of course, the auction! There are some AMAZING donations coming in. Get ready to shop! THANK YOU FOR HELPING US RAISE MONEY FOR THE KIDS OF ST. PAUL'S! SEE YOU SATURDAY!
