FAB FIVE Response + Exploration

SUMMARY

The Fab Five was a group of basketball players that will almost never happen again. Their attitudes were so strong it was a coaching nightmare for Steve Fisher trying to meet their request. Steve Fisher was new to head coach after Bill Fredier took a job at Arizona right before the tournament. Steve was Bo Shembeclars first choice at the job (Bo was Athletic Director and Coach). Steve finished the tournament as a National Champion. He just stepped on to the job and takes the team to win it all. He had a problem though, next year his rooster was looking bad. He starts the recruiting process with kids through out the state including Chris Webber and Jalen Rose. It was a miracle that these people would even consider Michigan. If you got Chris or Jalen to commit you have the other because they wanted to play basketball together. Chris and Jalen visited many campus and chose Michigan over schools like Indiana or Michigan St. which recruited them every second and had a better basketball team. Fisher then looked to Texas were star play Ray Jackson had Michigan on schools he would like to attend. Seeing the amazing talent Michigan got he was in. Lastly Fisher looked to Chicago were he got star players Jimmy King and Jalen Rose. This was amazing but really it came with a catch. All these guys have completive inner city kids had strong personalities. Usually when freshman came it was the senior in charge pushing them around but now that all changed forcing higher classmen to transfer. The season was underway with and only 2 freshman started. It grew from there and then towards the end of the regular season coach made the choice to start all five. The men were the medias favorite but not usually in bad ways. They would trash talk at every game. Many alums of Michigan sent letters to Fisher saying how untraditional they were and that’s not the Michigan way to trash talk and be awful sports. OFF THE FIELD

Even though since one day there has been a lot of competition for the starting positions and fights break out the fab five start to work the rest of the team. The team goes to many tournaments around the world like Hawaii and Europe. When they went to Europe after losing in the National Champion the Fab Five hated the sightseeing in-between their games against European teams. They said things like its to hot and the wanted to go back to the hotel room. This always kept Fisher awake to deal with what the Fab Five needed.

EXPLORATION Part 1 out of 3

It was just a normal basketball game for everyone including the fab five. The fab five were still wearing their warmups till game time. This was very unlike them. They pulled the warmup pants off to show off shorts as we know today instead of the shorter skin tight shorts these were baggier longer shorts allowing for flexible movement. At first many criticized he fab five for being different but embraced it over the many years following.
